Searched and didn’t see it mentioned yet.

LINK

I hope he works out. Was never comfortable with Grupe lining up for kicks.

Never should have parted ways with Lutz. Still don’t understand that bonehead move by Loomis.

Lutz was 30 for 34 last season.

Grupe was 30 for 37.

Lutz missed two extra points and Grupe didn't miss any.

The Saints were in the Top 10 in the league in attempted field goals. I like that the Saints are bringing this guy in, but Grupe wasn't horrible.

the Green Bay game gets brought up a lot, but it wasn't his fault that the Saints blew a 17-point lead. Bad on him for missing the kick at the end but he shouldn't have been put in that situation.

Maybe, maybe not.

Loomis or Allen? Not that it matters but it was totally understandable even though I would not have. Here is a look at Lutz's performance at NOLA

If you want a benchmark for how bad that was, Grupe was 81.1% last season, almost 7 full percent better than Lutz was his last season in NOLA and only a point worse than his previous season at NOLA. It looked all the world like he had lost it.

Grupe’s kicking stats weren’t awful, but I never felt confident in our FG attempts.

Neither did I man.

Early on in the year when the offense was having all their Red zone troubles he got relied on a lot.

It seems like the Red zone problems got better especially towards the end of the season but I do like the fact that they're bringing in this kid to compete with him.

You try to improve your roster and whatever way you can.

This is the only game i give him a pass on for the reason you said. Plus, GB had multiple TOs and like almost 2 minutes. Even if Grupe makes it they still lose imo.

hell they should be ringing the phone of that UFL team where the guy kicked a legit 64 yarder to win the game, and then repeated it because they called a time out to try to make him freeze up and miss, so he made it twice.

the kicks had enough clearance they might have still been good for 67-68 yards

It's not the kick. It's the clutch situations, he's got the yips more often than not.

Lutz makes $4.2 mil per year
Grupe makes $900k

Three of Grupe’s misses were from 51, 52, and 54. Still had the leg on those, just slightly off. Grupe could be a top kicker in the league with a slight improvement next year

The Lutz / Grupe decision was the correct decision. Lutz may be okay for a couple of years, but then he's done. Definitely declining.

Bring in the new guy. Make him compete against Grupe, and the better leg wins the job.
