Saints should make a play for Mayfield

Way better than Carr. He could turn things around with this mediocre offense.

Carr was better than baker in QBR and passer rating, which are the 2 best stats to gauge qb play.
The saints offense put up more yds/game and pts/game than the Bucs

Stats can be deceiving sometimes. Carr just doesn’t pass the eye test bro.

Exactly... if you match a bad contract with another bad contract they cancel out ya know.

And a lot of times the eye test isn't as accurate as non-biased stats

Try convincing the front office.

The eye test where he had a sprained shoulder and broken ribs for 2 months of the season?

Nah. The one where he didn’t get to have a healthy Evans and Godwin all season; plus what looks like a really good OC that came up under Pete Carroll’s tree

4 years. Good deal based on his production

150 mil 3 years!
Until Mickey restructures it, it was signed as a 4 year 150M with an option to be a 3 year 100M deal. Either way, it ranks between 13-16th amongst QB contracts.

We have a Baker already and overpaid dearly for him.

Or the Saints can just draft a QB in this QB rich draft and groom him to be their future.
Something that should have been done many years ago when Brees was still here.

Almost always in any large enough sample size

Shoukd the saints have signed Bsker or fine other mid tier qb on a one year 5 million prove it desl. Yes, I’ve been saying in here for two years that’s the way to go until we get our cap under control.
Woukd I prefer Carr to Baker if salaries are equal. Yes, but they are not and we are in cap hell because of it.

The difference in production is minimal.
Not to mention, you'd still have to pay Carr, plus Mayfield would want more money than the $4million (?) he's making now.
Allen is tied to Carr. He had better hope a new OC turns it around, otherwise, he'll be out the door (hopefully)
