Saints restructure Janoris Jenkins; Update it’s a 3 year deal

The Saints and CB Janoris Jenkins have agreed to a renegotiated contract. A sensible move for the Saints to create cap space, as Jenkins was scheduled to count $11.25M against the cap, with a base salary of $10.25M. GM Mickey Loomis is always finding ways to create cap space.

Depends on how much his cap # dropped.
I can't see any big moves though. Maybe a nice depth signing. Like a #3 RB or #3 OT. The only nice size contract we might be looking to add is probably a #2 QB.
Forgot about a #3 CB. That could cost a decent amount. I'd like Prince Amukamara.

I’m interested to see how much he went down. If it’s only a few million it’s likely it’s only for vet depth and for the rookies

Warford is really the only other cap # that is too high, but they might just let him play it out since this is the last year on the contract.

Don’t expect any big moves. This was most likely done just to get us in the black again on the balance sheet and give us money to sign the draft class. We only have 5 picks so we may only need $4-5 million.

I expect PJ to be back within days and Washington
With Rankins injury history, I think they’re going to wait for an extension with him. He’s good when healthy but only just good, not great. He needs to prove himself

Our total rookie pool is $5.2 million. We had over $9 million before this, and those other players would also replace other players in the top 53 (or whatever it is now) meaning we dont need the full $5.2 million of cap space to sign them

Most of the twitter folks seem to think this was really mainly to help clear the way for signings already happened no the draft class.
But I still expect at least one more full YOLO Loomis move.
