From the Jets side, I'd guess it will happen shortly after the Revis trade. Jets will have more picks to use depending on the compensation, and more cap room to sign Ivory to a multi year deal.

Dark horse situation being someone Rob wants defensively from Rex, moving the pick back a round. That's purely a guess though...

Looking like a 4th or 5th.

@SteveGellerWWL: Yes the Saints resigned Ivory but needed to happen in order for a trade with the Jets.Deal still expected for a NYJ 4th or 5th rd draft pick

This is a good move by the Saints - trading Ivory for a 4th - 5th round pick. We were pretty stacked at RB and have holes to fill elsewhere.

HOWEVER, I'm really going to miss that guy running for the Saints! He really put on quite a show last year. Such a physical runner. I wish him all the best.

Same here. Wish we could keep him, but he's just a luxury we can't afford at this time.

Jets have made an offer for Saints RB Chris Ivory, who signed his RFA tender today. #NYJ still wants to trade for him, per sources.

The New York Daily News confirms the Jets have an offer on the table for Chris Ivory and "still want to trade for him."

Really wish we could have gotten at least a 3rd. Ivory is a boss. I'm glad hes out of the conference though. Im also interested to see how he holds up getting a full load throughout the season.

Why we be mad at a 5th? That's highway robbery as far as I'm concerned.

Hate to see him go, but to get a pick back for a guy that's obviously not in the plans and you didn't spend a draft pick on in the first place is a good deal.

I'm hoping its above a 5th, but to add some perspective wasn't Anquan Boldin had for a 6th rounder?

Yea, but he was also due a bunch of money. That's why Ravens traded him.

Since he signed his tender, can a team he is traded to sign him to a longer term deal or do they have to wait out the season? If they have to wait out the season, his trade value would be significantly diminished.

They could resign him. Even if they agreed on a RFA tender contract, they could have reworked It afterwards

I really don't want him to go. Anything worse than a 4th and I'm going to be bummed. I just think if he could stay healthy he could be so dominant. I know he hasn't stayed healthy yet but I feel like it's almost worth the chance. Even if it makes sense to trade him I just hate to see a good player go for a 5th round pick
