I don't follow the Jets and have never had him fantasy, so I don't follow him much.
Is he a giant douche bag or something?

I don’t recall a single off the field issue. I think he spent some time injured, but nothing major. Mostly average to below average QB play didn’t do him any favors.

He was arrested twice in a short period of time in ‘17 and ‘18. I’m not sure it’s character issues or the cost

Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson was arrested early Friday morning in Florida and is facing nine charges, the Broward (Fla.) County Sherriff's Office confirmed to the New York Daily News.
According to a police report obtained by ESPN's Rich Cimini, a car Anderson was driving was clocked as 105 mph in a 45 mph zone, and he also ran multiple red lights. After he was pulled over, Anderson apparently threatened to sexually assault the officer's wife
The arrest happened in Sunrise, Fla. and the nine charges he faces are: resisting an officer/obstruction without violence; harm to a public servant or family; fleeing/eluding while lights/siren active; reckless driving; failure to drive in a single lane; two counts of disobeying/avoiding a red light; speeding; and turning without a signal.

New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson was arrested and charged with a felony count of resisting arrest with violence in Miami on Sunday night, police confirmed to NFL.com.
Anderson got into a fight with security at an event after being told to leave, according to a Miami-Dade Police Dept. report. He then pushed a police officer after being told to sit down. Anderson continued to fight with police while on the ground and was then arrested.

The felony charge was downgraded to a misdemeanor charge due to a possible discrepancy regarding the initial estimated speed, but there is no doubt that the defendant was driving recklessly," the state attorney's office said in a statement. "The other charges were declined, not filed, due to insufficient evidence."
There’s video of him being arrested at gun point, but no recordings of the “threats” he made while in the squad car
And for the Miami arrest, the officer has a history of making BS arrests and making tax payers cover his mistakes. He’s the same officer who arrested Vilma
quote:
prosecutors were forced to drop the charges against Anderson earlier this year after other officers on the scene were not able to corroborate the events that Ortiz claimed sparked the arrest. Other cops who witnessed the arrest testified they did not see Anderson "shove" Ortiz before the captain tackled him, as Ortiz had claimed. In a close-out memo, prosecutors said Ortiz also skipped two scheduled depositions regarding the case.
quote:
"Because the State Attorney's close-out memorandum documents Captain Ortiz's failure to appear to two scheduled depositions and [the fact that] he never rebutted the claims made by officers who were never present, Staff recommends that the allegation of 'improper procedure' be sustained," the CIP says.
While not ideal, I don’t think it’s big thing to worry about

Eh, in NFL terms that's basically nothing

Man that cop is a real peace of work with a ton of history in getting suspended
Yikes, tried to claim he was black too
quote:
Late last year, the Miami Community Police Benevolent Association (MCPBA) unearthed records showing Ortiz had claimed he was a white Hispanic man when he applied to work at MPD but then claimed in 2014 and 2017 on paperwork provided to New Times that he was a black man. The U.S. Department of Justice was monitoring the department at the time, and black officers accused Ortiz — already the most controversial cop in Miami with a long history of racist statements — of faking his race to boost the department's diversity statistics. At a city commission meeting last Friday, the MCPBA demanded Chief Jorge Colina address racism in his department or resign.

quote:
Ortiz has also repeatedly been accused of falsely arresting black people, including NFL players Jonathan Vilma and Robby Anderson. NBC Miami last year reported that the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office is investigating whether Ortiz's apparent abuse of the city's off-duty work rules violated the law. Ortiz was also accused of fabricating an arrest report that conflicted with video evidence taken from a beating he was involved in during the 2011 Ultra Music Festival. The matter was referred to prosecutors, but the State Attorney's Office took no action. He nearly lost his job in 2017 after he doxxed a police critic who had complained about an officer driving at dangerously high speeds. Ortiz posted the woman's personal contact information online, so the woman, Claudia Castillo, obtained a temporary restraining order against him. He was taken off the street until a judge lifted the stay-away order. As of 2019, Ortiz had amassed 42 citizen complaints and been involved in 18 use-of-force incidents, according to city documents.

If the Panthers find a Qb they’re going to be a problem. So much damn speed.

We got emmanuel sanders for cheaper. not sure that there's any reason to have wanted Robby over Emmanuel with the fit on the roster.
