Field Yates

The Saints have cut veteran WR Rishard Matthews (left squad designation), per source.

Damn that sucks. I thought the way things were looking that he’d contribute a good bit this season. Oh well

Guess Sean really expected him to make a statement yesterday and his 1 for 7 yard stat line didnt move the needle

Thomas, Ginn, Smith, Kirkwood are roster locks then

Butler has also been studding out in practice. As long as he gets healthy he looks the part to stick as well.

With Humphrey and the Grayson making some plays no reason to hang on to a guy who might not have the same drive to compete as he once did vs 1-2 kids you might be able to sneak on the PS

Sean Payton announced that WR Rishard Matthews was released, along with TE Jake Powell. Veteran OL Ulrick John was placed on injured reserve. Payton confirmed that Matthews chose to leave. He did not specify a reason but said, “It’s not for everyone.”

Yep. Deonte Harris is listed as a WR as well. He has a chance to make the team.

Well...we apparently hit the lottery with Emmanuel Butler.

I’m not sold on Butler until I see him in a game. I’m hopeful tho. TreQuan was doing the same things in camp last year

Dez is really the only available F.A. WR that is worth a shite.

Well, I did see another name that was interesting...he comes with baggage though.

From July 15th... Suspended free agent WR Martavis Bryant has applied for reinstatement.

According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, Bryant has been working with the NFL and the Players Association on steps he needs to take to address his mental health issues, with therapists and ADHD treatments. Bryant has been trying to come to an agreement with the league for proper treatment for his mental health. Still 27, Bryant could yet again get another chance.

Hate to say this, but it looks like we neglected the #2 receiver spot yet again and it will more than likely bite us in the arse again this year.

Hoping Cook can become a monster in our offense, like he should, and help take pressure off of Thomas.

He was very impressive in the return game. I hope that he sticks. We haven’t had a consistent weapon on returns since Sproles left.

Their faith in Smith better pay off.

Right now it's Thomas and Ginn with a steep drop-off
