Second time "left squad designation" has been used in the history of the NFL seems like. Cant remember the other dude. Both Saints?

I’m not sure how saying we neglected the receiver position this offseason gets numerous downvotes

We should have gotten Jalen Hurd in the later rounds.

Its because its your opinion and not the Saints FO.

If the Saints think they can improve even the #4 rb position they beat the trees and the bushes to do it as we have seen.

Its obvious they like the recv group in place.

Thomas, Ginn, Smith and Kirkwood all appear to be the Saints 1-4 WR's.

To battle for the rest they bring in draftees, undrafted FA's and vets.

I see zero "neglect".

agreed... and with Harris looking like our kick returner, that puts him on the squad, and we ain't keeping more than 6 WRs, so that means Cobbs, Butler, and Humphrey are basically battling it out for the #5 WR job...

Grayson is a great story and all, but i don't see him sticking... my guess is Humphrey makes the team, and they try to stash Butler on the PS, and Cobbs too, if he still can be on the PS...

sherels is the returner. Giving Harris an audition for the practice squad. They know what sherels can do.

Well. Ginn isn’t a number 2 WR

Great catch by Saints WR Tre’Quan Smith from Brees in middle of traffic during hurry-up 11-on-11. A different kind of catch than we typically saw from Smith as rookie, when he admittedly struggled a bit to learn multiple positions/nuances. I’ve heard he has progressed with that.

Year 2 of Smith will be better

Anyway, target wise you got

WR1 Thomas
WR2 Kamara
WR3 Cook

before you even get into the literal WR2 in this offense. Kamara ran nearly 400 routes last season. Cook will line up as a WR more than half his snaps. These other WRs need to just fill their role and answer when called upon

Just went on an instagram rage and said he won’t “miss the fakeness or brainwashing of the nfl”

“People using me for entertainment and not understanding that I am a black man in America no longer exist”

Glad he fricking left, sounds like a locker room buzz kill.. enjoy sitting on the couch, making no money!

While I don't feel as sour grapes about his departure as the poster above sounds, if he can't cut it, better he gtfo now rather than the regular season.

Black man or not, if you aren't gonna come to work, then there's no need for you to be there.

Well, his skill set is more suitable for football than teaching English. There's always that.

The people busting their arse and literally breaking their backs in 115 degree heat for $40K a year feel real sorry for you Rishard. The frick thinks the world owes him something and what the heck does being a "black man in America" have to do with anything?
Glad he's gone.

He went to Nevada w/ Kap. And once told the Titans he would quit before standing for the anthem. So, either he was "forced" to stand, or he didn't stand and was told something afterwards.

Jalen Hurd was selected at the beginning of the 3rd round.
The WR I’m stil sour about not selecting is hunter renfrow. He fell to the 5th round and has already moved to the top of the depth chart as slot WR for the raiders. renfrow has reportedly been making lamarcus Joyner look bad in camp

Exactly. We don't need a legit #2 with the addition of Jared Cook. It would be nice to have a legit #2, but Cook is just as good or better than a legit #2.

Thomas, Kamara, & Cook are the main 3. Murray & Rodgers can catch out the backfield at a high level. Then you have a bunch or WR's (Ginn, Tre'Quan, Kirkwood, & the other 2 guys that win the job) that combine to fill in the rest. Depending on who the #3 TE is...he could also add to this.

We're in a much better position than we were last year. As far as catching the ball...RB's are about the same, WR's should be better (Ginn is healthy, Tre'Quan & Kirkwood in their 2nd year, & we'll probably hit on 1 or 2 of the new WR's), & TE is EASILY better with Cook over Watson. #3 TE should be an upgrade over Arnold's play of 2018.
