This doesn't sound good.

quote:

Two sources with knowledge of the NFL's evidence in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal said Friday that the league has a copy of a "ledger" that was kept detailing weekly earnings for players. The ledger, which shows both money earned for "cart-offs" and "whacks" and deducted for "mental errors," also points to the fact that players were told on a week-by-week basis of their performance.

Would like it to be presented public if it exists.

NFL Players Association spokesman George Atallah said via text message that the league "made mention" of the ledger in a meeting with the union in April, but that the NFLPA had not seen the ledger yet.

As a result, Atallah called into question the use of the ledger as "evidence."

Serve it up. Let's have a look...or is this evidence misrepresented as well?

even if it does exist it doesn't necessarily mean or PROVE anything. It's likely part of the hyperbole/motivation.

I'm pretty sure that they said that GW kept records of pay-outs a while ago.

Well that's just stupid.

However, you would hope it's coded like in the Untouchables. We just have need to take care of the book keeper.

weak-arse NFL hedge

Aside from the existence of the ledger, the effort by the players to push the blame for the system onto Williams by having Pamphilon release the audio tape is a tacit admission that the bounty system existed.

lolwut...let's take speculation and then jump to a conclusion with said speculation as premise

If it is true, I can understand why Roger doesn't want that shite out in the open. That opens up a huge liability down the road...essentially a check list of people that could sue, people that maybe had no idea they were targeted...years from now they could point to this as proof that they were targeted i suppose

Where is the ledger now? Because i know for a fact the Saints keep the last unicorn on earth in Kyle Turley's old locker. It's invisible, but it's there. Prove me wrong.

I was hoping to not find a cart off in the referenced Giants game in 2009, but there was one.

"After the play, Giants offensive right tackle Kareem McKenzie remained on the field, and then was helped off on a motorized cart by the medical staff"

So a supposed ledger that doesn't reveal anything about actual payments justifies suspending a Head Coach, staff, and players for a total of 77 ganes? Really?
This Pamphillon guy is a real beauty, ain't he?

clearly a high profile target that was probably a heavy bounty candidate

This is the downside of the Vilma lawsuit... a steady trickle trickle trickle of shitty news for god knows how long.

The NFL and its cohorts in the media have just upped the ante. Either they're getting ready to lower the boom on the Saints, the players, and the Whodat nation, or they're flailing desperately. It's not good for Vilma if there is a real ledger and his name is in it.

As for the injured Giant OT, apparently someone on the Saints D grabbed his nuts and yanked them. If that's true, they should be suspended. Definite man law violation there.
