Eat some shite this year and move on
The point is if we wanted to move on this year, we would not have eaten 47m and just released him before giving him all that extra money in guarantees.

Once he was restructured it was guaranteed he will be here this year (unless some team offers some stupidly good comp, which no one will).

Anyone thinking there is a chance above 0% he will be moved this year is severely misguided.

I just think Moore needs a mobile QB and Sanders holds the ball way too long. He was one of the most sacked QBs in college and you can’t put it all on the OL. I think they have been meeting with Ewers but that’s masking the guy they most likely actually prefer. Jaxon Dart makes too much sense if we could package 40 and a 1st or 2nd next year to get back into the late first and take your swing on Dart. He can sit a year while Carr is still on the books so he won’t get thrown into the fire immediately and can learn Moore’s offense.

We nearly had to in order to get cap compliant and cap space. Eating the monies would be worth it if we got pick value now in return. You are sort of being dense. Not saying it’s likely but it certainly is possible. The math works and we could move on.

Naw. Moore made it work with Herbert and Dak. He seems like a QB guru so far ala Sean Payton.

Def possible but more likely we draft a guy and groom him like Alex Smith/Mahomes.

I don’t think there is a team in the league who would part with that for Carr. I’d imagine a second and some change would cause a massive revolt from a fanbase.

derek carr is the same pussy that came to new orleans and told the staff he didn't want taysom taking snaps at qb.

we draft a qb pretty high, derek carr might tell the organization he wants to take his ball and go home.

cool, you have a no trade clause, you go find a team that is willing to make nice and give us x,y,z and we can accommodate trading you.

There is always a chance, even if that chance is 1%. If it was 0%, they would not be listening to other teams (obviously, we have no proof that they are one way or the other).

It's basically a sunk cost. They made that decision at a time of need when they needed to get cap compliant. It appears that decision was made with the full belief that he would be the starting QB for 2025, and possibly beyond. However, since that decision was made, new information has come to light with the interviews. If they really like 1or 2 of the guys in this draft and he is within range to be drafted, all bets are off regardless of the decision made in mid-March. Obviously, Gayle needs to be on board and this could be the "you've made your bed, now lie in it" moment for Mickey.

Lol. Well insight is difficult for some.

The writing is clearly on the wall.

Carr is in NOLA for 1 more year and then he’s likely gone.

Unless he plays lights out, but I would doubt that he could do much better than his career average of 25/10 essentially.

I'd be fine with Milroe if they use him like Taysom. He's a long way from being QB1 though.

I think KM probably a really good guy to be scouting Milroe. He spent the year winning the superbowl with the absolute ceiling of what you’d want Milroe to become (albeit slightly different running styles).

Not going to lie I think teams may be playing cards close to the vest and he may actually go very late in rd 1 when a team trades back in to get him and have that 5th year to develop him.

100%.

Milroe’s knock is accuracy on some of the in breaking crossers/throws.

But he throws a beautiful deep ball, has big arm to drive out routes etc.

KM has the offense to scheme around and qb chops to help his footwork and clean up the short game passes for Milroe.

Imagine KM’s RPO offense with groomed Milroe, and our speed at WR. Would be nice if Milroe improves he clearly has the tools.

Any QB we draft seems like a groom and play. Why rush it?

Carr can be a placeholder etc. if even for half a season.

Watching Andy Dalton helped Bryce Young get exponentially better etc. same concept.

I'm actually OK with a qb who doesn't want to put the ball in someone else's hands.
