Carr is top 12 QB in league. Saints will shell out money to sign a proven QB. Chances going playoffs increased with Carr.
Carr will have the saints stuck in nfl purgatory at best, not good enough to make a big run and not bad enough for a top 5 pick

Carr would be best qb in division

Unfortunately signing Carr may mean the Saints won’t be taking Hooker with their 2nd or 3rd. I like Hooker’s upside better than what we have seen from Carr
Not necessarily
Carrs contract will be a steal after all is said and done. You could draft Hooker as we need a backup anyway.
I find it an ideal situation. Carr will easily be tradable down the line

Like winning the Special Olympics, Carr's still a meh-to-bad QB.

If you think Carr wins you the division and gets you into the playoffs this year, you do it. The defense is still good enough to possible shut a team or two down in the playoffs and make a lucky run. You have to get to the playoffs to have a shot.

I’m coming around on the idea of having carr. The roster isn’t depleted of talent. We’re above average qb play away from running away with the division. Carr can be a solution for years to come
The d line still needs to be rebuilt. The linebackers are elite. I like the secondary enough. Need to add a free safety.

How could you possibly know this?

Is smoke free or strong?

Based on how the market is now. With no sign of it getting better.
You have crap QBs demanding 45 million a year and possibly getting it.
Its always been like this. Assuming Carr doesnt fall off a cliff carr at say 30 million looks very reasonable relative to everything else.
You have some backups making 12-14 million

The only downside to signing Carr and drafting a kid is i dont think Carr is mentally tough enough to handle that

I agree. I've softened my opinions on alot of things. I think if the Saints sign Carr that tips the MT13 domino and I believe he will decide to be healthy and the two of them are good for 10 to 12 wins. Especially in the weak NFC south.
MY13 will have to fix his contact but I think with adding Carr he will be excited again.

While the #Panthers and #Saints remain in the conversation for Derek Carr, the former Pro Bowl quarterback has a slight lean toward the #Jets as his next home as of now, per source. Nothing is final, but Jets -- who are linked to Aaron Rodgers -- have made an impression.

Lol, screw em then. Move to jimmy g or draft a qb

Could also be a push by his agent to get more money. Seems like NY is also very interested in Rodgers.
Posted on 3/5/23 at 5:43 pm to Sauce Castieaux
That's true. Get us to bid against ourselves

Roger's is the Jets #1 option. Carr is their fallback plan im sure Carr doesn't feel confident being second fiddle in NY. And not even the real NY NFL team. The Jetts are a smokescreen in the Carr debate.

Just don’t know why Carr would choose us to begin with.

Saints with carr are the nfc South favorite. Jets with carr have to hope tua is done to finish 2nd in the afc east

- Easy division/route to playoffs
- NFC avoids superstar qbs in AFC
- Still have a good core
-Above Average o-line and staff that values a good oline
- Stud young receiver/possible MT back
- Good Defense
- Relationship with Dennis Allen during time with Raiders
- Desperate for QB / Literally no competition on the roster

Yeah I doubt we land Carr but this whole thing is really weird. It’s been clear the Jets want Rodgers badly. If Carr was so clearly loving New York, why isn’t the deal done? It’s clear the Jets are waiting on Rodgers
I’d prefer the Jets roster to ours but we would have him playing in warm weather or a dome for at least 10 games a year + a much weaker division. Plus, we’ve made it clear he’s our number 1. Not Rodgers or a player through the draft which I’m sure the Panthers will do even if they get Carr.
