Another retread, that'll go wonderful

Sure, he was a failure in Chicago, so, he's good enough for NOLA.

34-31 with bears. They missed the playoffs the previous 7 seasons before he got there. They made it 2 of his 4 seasons. They haven't made it since he left. Maybe he's a decent choice given we won't have the pick of the litter

Oh hell yeah let’s tank this shite.
In all honesty I don’t think he’s quite the punchline he was made out to be but I also don’t think he’s ever going to be a guy that truly puts together a great team. Feels like a very low ceiling kind of hire.

I almost want to just dismiss it because sports illustrated is not really a newsbreaker.
But it does kind of makes sense. I mean how many players have they signed from the Chiefs in recent years?
Why stop there? Why don't we just start hiring some of their assistant coaches while we're at it?.
Holy crap

This is a Saints thing to do.

If they were really wanting to do this they can't even talk to him until the playoffs are over.
And the Chiefs would appear to at least make it to the AFC championship game.
Obviously another super Bowl appearance wouldn't be a surprise either.

Holly crap! Loomis is picking to offensive version of Dennis Allen. We’re going to have to look beyond the results for so many years.
I’d be stupid insanely irate if this happened. I was willing to give him a chance when he hired Allen. I was pissed when he wouldn’t fire him after tanking this franchise. I was incensed when defended that baffoon! I’d lose it if he hired this looser!!

Do not want.
Remember the last time we hired a Bears coach?

Bald headed guys should not wear visors.

Hell naw! Bears fired him why should we hire a retread, good coordinator but bad HC ala DA

I’m surprised at the negative reactions this has gotten. I think this would be a strong hire considering the circumstances. Everyone fails in Chicago for the past 20 or so years. He was 34-31 with Mitch Trubisky! That’s actually impressive.
If he wasn’t any good, Andy Reid wouldn’t have brought him back to be OC. I’ve heard other commentators talk about how innovative he is offensively and how coaching the Bears w Trubisky was unfair.

I will have to remind myself often.
It doesn’t matter. This coach doesn’t matter.

Not surprising at all. Who’s in charge exactly? Why would they be is a good fit?

As much as we want to blame Loomis for this consideration, this tells you how utterly unattractive this job is when the whisper interested are names like Glenn, Nagy, etc.
The crowd who says “there are only 32 of these jobs and interest will be strong” simply aren’t paying attention. The ESPN writer correctly pegged this is the least desirable opening and some coaches would prefer to be a coordinator than work here.

Every OC looks good under Reid. Crazy thing is their offense hasn’t looked THAT great this year

There may only be 32 of these jobs but the guys who have a bright future generally know it. Why burn your first and maybe only opportunity on spots 30-32 of which we likely are right now.
With that being said Mickey kinda seems like a guy who is going to want the safer, more established name with less shine than going for a young up and comer coordinator type.
