I posted the below the Travel board, but I thought I'd also get some input here. Are any of you familiar with Philadelphia?

---

I will be in Philadelphia for a week with my family. We are going up for the Saints game and will be staying the entire week for Thanksgiving.

We want to get an Airbnb, but I am unsure as to what neighborhoods we should stay in -- or not stay in.

Aside from the game, what are some sights to see, places to eat and drink, etc. I'd obviously like to get an authentic cheesesteak.

Honestly, any help, tips, and pointers will be appreciated.

ETA: Should I be worried about wearing Saints memorabilia? All jokes aside, this is arguably the one venue that has me somewhat uneasy.

Philly fans are the worst, however I have stayed in Downtown at the Fairfield Inn (not an Air BNB, but a nice room in a great place) Philly and also on the outskirts like in Plymouth Meeting (north side).

I had a decent Cheesesteak at Cleavers when i was last up there.

Downtown is very clean, parking is expensive. Air BNB sounds good unless hotel rates are cheap.

Philly is fine. It depends on what you want to do besides the game. The center city marriott used to have great rates and is right next to Reading Terminal Mkt and within walking distance to the historical stuff.

You can stay in King of Prussia and visit Valley Forge.

New Hope has a few bed and breakfasts and is scenic on the Delaware River.

Make sure you see the old Christ church that all the founding fathers used to go to. I stopped by before the 1pm kickoff in 2009. It’s awesome - still looks super old fashioned today. All the obvious other stuff - Indy hall Ben Franklins tomb
