Chiefs have had "zero dialogue" with Cardinals about a Patrick Peterson trade, but something is definitely going on with the veteran DB

An earlier tweet surfaced about him going to KC, so that's what this tweet is referencing.

PFT

quote:

Antonio Bryant has definitely found a way to make himself relevant in recent days.
?
He has taken a break from banging the “Cardinals won’t draft Kyler Murray” drum to suggest that the Cardinals have shipped defensive back Patrick Peterson to the Chiefs.

A source with direct knowledge as to whether such a deal had gone down tells PFT that no deal has gone down between the Cardinals and the Chiefs, and that there has been “zero dialogue” between the two teams. Another source made it clear that something is happening, and that Peterson could indeed be out of Arizona, soon.

So stay tuned. The top-10 pick in 2011 and one of the few remaining faces of the franchise could be playing for another team. Even if it’s not the Chiefs.

Not knocking pp7 but where would you have him ranked amongst CB’s today.

I'd give up next year's first and some salary to make it happen. I'm all in on this season. I don't care if we are stuck in a slightly longer rebuild.

Drew Brees and Teddy Bridgewater both have expiring contracts.

I wouldnt be parting with 1st round picks for next years offseason.

PP7 on the trade block...saints mentioned as team couple months ago. Trade talk surfaces again and although not mentioned Saints could very easily enter that talk again. Not hard to do the math here

There have been like 5 new threads in the last two weeks bitching about the relevancy of this one is trying to hard.

We traded for Apple last year. I don’t see the Saints trading for PP7 this year unless it’s for something crazy like a late 2nd or 3rd rounder.

He’s 28 and has 2 years left on his deal. He will want as much money as he can get on his next contract and will likely want an extension next year. Not the best timing to make this trade.

Perfect senario - Saints need only think in two year window. What happens after can just play out. He and team can decide if they still want each other.

that doesn't mean we have zero want for him. I agree it's a luxury but a starting secondary of Lattimore, PP7, Apple in the nickle and Prob in the dime sounds pretty damn enticing.

Ehh, I’d rather have a second round pick (Michael Thomas or Marcus Williams) for four years than an aging disgruntled CB (if we don’t extend him next offseason) for two.

All that being said, I’d love to have PP7 on this team. Love! It just comes at a high cost and might not be in the cards after trading for Apple last year.

In a world where you have Eli apple and Patrick Robinson as your "3rd and 4th cornerback"... Yeah I'd go for it.

That means crawley is gone and we're looking at 2 elite cornerback who both have a nose for the ball.

I know zero about the Chiefs cap situation other than they just paid Frank Clark a lot of money. Might take them out if it?
