It was in honor of my favorite LSU player ever. Only reason I signed up was to tell everyone on the Rant how much I thought Les Miles sucked. I fought it out with most of the people on that board, then stopped posting for a while. Never had any intentions of continuing to post.

And that's not me jumping to conclusions. That was me missing a word on the read through and not going back to reread.
But now since you pointed it out, yes that is why Payton mentioned he wanted to keep them. Not because of play on the field(though he mentioned they were smart players; aka reads the play but might not have the ability to finish it; aka scott shanles), but because of their leadership.
That's out of Payton's own mouth. But at the same time he said he understands the cap situation(reading between the lines: big cut or get cut).
