My hope is that he shifts the vibe and culture back to some normalcy while we still lose. We are fiesty and competitive and every game but lose.

If he wins 6 games...he probably gets the HC job.

I think Rizzi is going to be a fulltime HC one day, but this Saints team just doesn't have the roster to win many more games.

They need to be sitting all the older veterans and playing all the young players they can to evaluate them.

From a talent standpoint, we don't out match

Atlanta
LA rams
Washington
Green bay
Tampa bay

We probably can match with
Cleveland
NY giants
Las Vegas

So let's say 3 wins and 5 loses. 5-12 likely gets us that 10 range.

Would prefer to win fewer games, but I can live with 5-12.

That was the Charges final record in 2023 and they picked 5th.

Rams & Denver picked 5th & 6th in 2022 after finishing 5-12.

Current betting odds have us finishing with the 8th pick.

The current betting odds have the win projection totals at:
Miami 5.8
New Orleans 5.6
Jacksonville 5.4
NYG 5.0
Tennessee 4.8
Cleveland 4.6
Las Vegas 4.6
New England 4.0
Carolina 3.4

I worry because right now 9 teams have 2 wins. It's an absurdly bad year for bad teams.

Giants may win 2-3 more
New England may lose out
Carolina may lose out
Las Vegas may win 2-3 more
Jacksonville may win 2-3 more
Cleveland may win 1-2 more
Tennessee may win 1-2 more.

Miami will likely win 3+ more
New York jets should win 3+ more

We're honestly talking there might be 7 teams win 2-4 wins this year.

Talk about a really bad time to be bad. No sure-fire QB, and 1/3rd of the league sucks just as bad if not worse

Banking on a rebuild now. This year and next. Just suck with some promise, find a Qb prospect from 2026 and hope you strike gold.

Why was this not done once the Covid concern dissipated?

we just have to suck for a few years. Get all the dead money off the books, get new young talent, develop them, then the last step is getting a QB in 2026 or 2027.

There would not be joy around here if we sucked, had the 2nd pick and 5 #1 qbs were sitting in the first round.

His name is Dennis Allen and that's just another example of what a really bad coach he was.

He was terrible at seating at his Thanksgiving day dinners as well.

Remember Sean Payton came to the Saints as a somewhat unknown coordinator. Maybe Rizzi can restore the missing culture to the team.

I get that. Just no guarantee the new coach won't slip up and get us back to Jeff Fisher land while we're muddling through a tight cap and in rebuild mode.
