Saints beat writer Jeff Duncan doesn't believe there's any chance the team will try trading Reggie Bush this offseason.

Duncan says Sean Payton "loves Bush" and is "not about to deal him." Payton's offense is a perfect fit for Bush and it's unlikely that the Saints could get good value for him. Bush is averaging only 3.7 YPC in his career and is coming off knee injuries in back-to-back seasons. Most NFL teams look for better inside running and durability from their tailbacks.

Ik most of you hate Bush. But I love to watch him play and I think he will be great, if healthy, next season.

Through the Vikings game, Drew Brees was NFL MVP 1A and Reggie Bush was NFL MVP 1B.

If he can ever stay healthy (and the Saints finding a legitimate RB will help Reggie avoid the pounding that he's taken the past 2 seasons) Reggie will give us 20 TD's as he was on pace to do this season.

People love to tear him down because he's the glamour boy. Pretty, well-dressed, from SoCal, dates a celeb, plays finesse. That clashes with what football fans are programmed to appreciate.

With the NFL being a big business, whether or not Bush is a Pro-Bowl caliber player on the field, off the field he is a popular player and sells lot of jerseys, making me wonder what his value not just on the field is but also what his value to the bottom line is.

without bush, the saints would not have made it to the nfc championship 2 years ago, nor would they have won more than 6 games this year. they guy has done more good for the saints than bad. even the games that we lost this year (denver, washington, minn) bush got us TDs in punt returns and made some big plays on offense. but it didn't matter, we still found a way to lose.

This just in, Payton not to be fired this year. Was this really ever a story???

Not as a running back. Bush needs to play WR2 90% of the time, RB 7% of the time and Wild Saint QB 3% of the time.

When I read this on Rotoworld, I said the same thing about this not being an issue. I just wanted to attempt to silence the "Let's Trade Bush for ____" idiots.

Absolutely. He's not the Barry Sanders type back everyone was hoping for but as a 2 or a slot receiver... once he gets a step or two away from coverage he's pretty spiffy.

i disagree. I think it should be 40-60 or 50-50 RB/WR. He really needs to be in on almost every down, and it doesn't hurt to put him at rb IMO. He is actually better at inside running than stretch plays and with a better oline i think he would do fine at playing RB

Yeah, 90% is bit much. Now that he's learning not to outrun his blockers he's gotten better on the ground. I still think the majority of his talent lies in the open field though.

Bush could be an all pro wide out, especially with Colston on one side and Brees throwing around the ball. He has the posibility of being a great back (reminds me a lot of Brian Westbrook) but right now he just doesn't have it. He doesn't hit the hole and go for it and he's always looking to make a cut or run laterally instead of taking his yard or so and going back to the huddle.

Right Now: Not a great running back, but would be a great WR. IMO.
