It may be better for us to spend the first...we would have the 5th year option. With him missing part of his rookie season (presumably), you may need the extra time

Let's hope not. The dude is 25 and put up numbers against dudes 20 yr old or less. GTFO with this dude he's a fricking bum.

If you think he's the guy and you have have any hesitation that someone (note - anyone that may need a new starting QB in the next 3 years) will trade up to jump us in the 2nd, you use the 1st on him.

I see it the other way. I always saw Mark Ingram getting drafted by the Saints, same with Olave. Like it seemed it was pre-determined. I honestly see the same thing here with Hooker.

You mean 20 year old SEC players who’ll be picked high in the draft? I don’t know if Hooker will be good or not, but this type reasoning is comical.

Using this logic 23 year old Joe Burrow was carving up 20 year olds in 2019, so he’s a bum.

Don’t mistake my post for a Hooker, Burrow comp. I’m questioning the logic, or lack thereof.

I can't wait to dunk on the Grandpa Hooker fans here. Absolutely cannot wait for such an obvious crash and burn prospect.

Yeah it would be great to see my team lose so I can throw a gotcha at some unknown people on the internet. You're a strange one

I mean 20yo players in the sec come into the league day 1 and still played lights out.

This is different than Brandon weeden

You'll be among the first and then act like you never rallied for Grandpa Hooker.

I only watched him play I think 3 games this season, wouldn't hate him at #29. He's not a perfect prospect, but he's got a big arm and mobility, and his completion % got better each year all while having very few turnovers.

are we about to use #40 on hooker?

I'm good with it as long as they don't use #29 for him or worse yet trade up

I’d rather re-sign Dalton for a year or two and draft Hooker at 40 than spend $40 million on any FA QB.

And to think someone will draft Richardson before Hooker. For all the money they have NFL GM’s don’t all have any common sense

Those 20 year olds have not peaked and are drafted as "prospects" based on what they could be - not what they are right now. Scouts have to project where they will be in 2-4 years physically and mentally. Hooker is already there. It's the exact reason 18 and 19 year olds get drafted high in the NBA vs the proven college juniors and seniors.

Thresholds of when prospects produce are a real thing. Hooker was a nobody for his entire college career until he got to TEN. Given that profile, the likelihood of him ever becoming an above avg NFL starter is probably less than 5%.

Why use #29 on a possible franchise QB when we can draft the 7th ranked DE
