He shouldn't have taken a pay cut and he is more than a running back.

Because his production is declining and his cap hit was too high. He wouldn't have made an difference in our games since he can't pass rush, or replace Hicks or Bunkley.

aging RB.

not a big deal in my opinion.

and... I think Payton's creativity with Sproles in the offense had run its course.

I'm sure I'll get roasted for saying that though.

cap hit and they thought his production was either going to drop or he wouldn't stay healthy. And...if you're watching the game. He's out...with an injury.

every frickin time a former Saint makes even the most minor of plays this question gets askeed

The didn't fit our system, or too big a cap hit, or insert whatever you want to hear to make you feel better. It doesn't matter they aren't on the team on so why care?

Because Travaris Cadet can do a pretty good job in that role for a fraction of the cost. He's averaging 8.3 yards per reception, which is exactly what Sproles averaged in his big 2011 season.

lets just say we had to pay JIMMY, Sproles hadnt done anything in two years, and everyones been wanting Jenkins and Harper gone for two or three years.

Yall have to give up on this all ready. If our team was winning and the defense was rolling, no one would care about those players.. you dont see anyone wanting Lance Moore or Vilma back...

It's a far gone conclusion that no matter what, there will be those "glass half empty" type of fans who think they could do a better job as GM.

He's getting old. There was some noticeable decline.

It's better to let a player leave one contract too soon than one contract too late. It wasn't worth tying him to us for years to come. Our other rb's and young playmakers are fine as a replacement. Letting him go isn't what's wrong with this team.
