I agree. I think it's quite hypocritical for the money hungry NCAA to punish the kids who make them that money for trying to reap some of the benefits.

Very mature response on the part of Reggie.
Yeah real mature. He was mature by lying and not telling the NCAA what he did and let his school go down because of him and his parents taking money
I'm glad he did it. Definitely a good move by him to give it back. He needs to score a td next game and do the heisman pose for his celebration.

I still dont get the hate for Reggie. When you have Haynesworth, Moss, Ochocinco, Owens, etc. etc. etc. being complete assholes all the time.
Reggie goes about his business quietly and they have never let up on this witch hunt. I think what he did was wrong but he still had to go out and play the game....
Stupid IMO, but what can you do.
P.S. That would be awesome to have a replica made and presented to him.

Bc no lsu athlete takes money from anyone. Dumb statement. Every major athlete at every major school does this. Reggie just got more and was more touted.

Solid column by Pat Y on the situation: LINK

Is there any chance the Heisman Trust could just tell him they want him to keep it? I heard Archie Griffin say he didn't think Reggie should give it back. Are we supposed to be so naive as to believe he's the only winner to receive improper benefits?

Reggie should have a fake trophy made up and give them that one.

great PR move, but....like on Muscona's radio show today, if it was me in that situation, you could try to take my Heisman away, but I'd punch ya in the mouth lol. A la Cal Naughton Jr,

Reggie returning his Heisman does not mean he is not still listed and recognized as the holder of the Heisman Trophy AWARD. Until and if it is forfeited or vacated by the Trust, he remains the recognized winner. He knows that. Quite possible that he cut a deal with the trust- "You retun the Heisman and we will not vacate the award". The Heisman Trophy AWARD is still his and he will be listed as such until THEY vacate it.

Reggie's Twitter
What story Reggie? You mean the one you have denied since day one?

IMO, Reggie should give the Heisman back since he broke the rules. However, I believe Reggie is shouldering the blame and paying the price for LOTS of violations that took place at USC. Look at the Joe McNight recruiting incident, and other JM accusations. Look at what Lane Kiffen learned on recruiting as USC. USC had a tight lid on the operation, but if finally came open. Pete Carroll jumped ship since he knew what was coming. I wish all the USC dirty laundry would come out, and that we find that Reggie was just a kid being told it's ok to take it.

If you read the report from the NCAA, it is clear Reggie knew what he was doing was wrong, and took steps to make sure it was not known by both USC or the NCAA.

Probably just tired of hearing about it and said screw it, they can't take my Super Bowl ring. BOOM!

Hold on a second. They are given a full scholarship with housing. This is a significant payment.

I believe you 100% accurate. While not innocent by any means, he is clearly the scapegoat to absorb as much of the impact on his alma mater as he can. After not letting on the sidelines for the Rose Bowl a few years ago, I'd say piss on them, let them pay. USC knew all too well what was going on.

Not to mention the only people thinkng of punishing Bush is the Heisman Trust not the NCAA
