• Cut Coleman and Meredith (+$8 mil in cap space)
• Trade AJ Klein and a 5th round pick for 3rd rounder (adding $4 mil cap space)
•offer Peat a 4 year $40 mil extension I gave him a little more value than Warford because Peat can also play tackle if needed)
• Offer Ingram 3 years $12 million
• Offer Alex Okafor 2 years $8 million
• Bring Davison, Robertson, Banjo and Bushrod back for the vet minimum
• Give Wil Lutz 5 years $12.5 mil extension
• Sign TE Jesse James 3 years $10.5 mil contract to be new starting TE.
• Sign slot WR Cole Beasley 3 years $15 mil contract (Hunter Renfrow would be even more ideal in the draft $$ wise)
• 2nd round draft pick on Debo Samuel to give us a legitimate option opposite Thomas while also a real kick/punt returner option. Jalen Hurd, Hunter Renfrow and David Sills are all interesting prospects too.
• If possible take TE Jace Sternberger in the middle rounds as a pure recieving threat TE.
• I’d love to trade to to get Jaylon Ferguson from La Tech or Kyler Murray but that won’t happen.

Who is giving up a third rounder for aj Klein?

Do like the idea of Jesse James at tight end but would also have to draft someone

Nobody is gonna trade us a 3rd rounder for Klein and a 6th.

They will have to be creative is my point. Free agency won’t being any big names but I think Jesse Janes could be the very best underrated signing of the offseason. He shined behind Vance McDonald in Pitt and he is a huge 6’6” target for Brees that you can play with Hill at the same time because they can both also block. It would be foolish to overpay for Jared Cook who is a good player but not worth the 4 year $40 million they say he’s looking for. Instead go smart. First you signed hill to a great team contract then get Jesse James on another great value deal, still giving you $$ to solve other issues like backup QB or OT. Then in the draft take Jace Sternberger in the middle rounds as a pure reviving threat TE project. The TE position would be set for years.

Any plan that doesn't start with "get drew to renegotiate contract" wont work.

This seems like a madden trade.

I know we would like to save money wherever possible but

quote:

Peat a 4 year $40 mil extension

quote:

Ingram 3 years $12 million

quote:

Wil Lutz 5 years $12.5 mil extension

all of those players are worth more and could get more on the open market

quote:

Trade AJ Klein and a 5th round pick for 3rd rounder

No one is giving you that trade ever you'd be lucky to get a 7th rounder for Klein at this point. His contract is terrible.

Sure. You could argue the risk to keep Meredith is worth it, he's had close to 2 years of rehab now.

quote:

That won't happen. Thats saying Klein has a high 4th value and that isn't the case

quote:

• Offer Ingram 3 years $12 million

You can argue the Peat one for sure.
The Ingram one I think will be closer to 6mil IMHO

Offer Alex Okafor 2 years $8 million

Probably the most underrated vet signing we'd have

quote:

Bring Davison, Robertson, Banjo and Bushrod back for the vet minimum

You won't sign Davison for minimum, he's not a big name but he's a huge reason why we're so damn elite vs the run. That still gets paid

Robertson will probably get slightly more than minimum (1.5m ish)

quote:

Give Wil Lutz 5 years $12.5 mil extension

I don't know if he'd agree. Rfa this year, we will likely slap 2nd round tender on him this year and he may risk a year to get paid more.

quote:

Sign TE Jesse James 3 years $10.5 mil contract to be new starting TE.

Yes

quote:

Sign slot WR Cole Beasley 3 years $15 mil contract (Hunter Renfrow would be even more ideal in the draft $$ wise)

If that's his cost? Hell yes

quote:

2nd round draft pick on Debo Samuel to give us a legitimate option opposite Thomas while also a real kick/punt returner option. Jalen Hurd, Hunter Renfrow and David Sills are all interesting prospects too.

Nahhh.

I think any plan require a FA WR, not draft. We need someone to contribute on day 1 and thats rare at WR.

If Peat really wants 5/$65 then we have to trade him now. 4/$40 is very fair for him. The people saying Ingram will get $6 mil per year I’d say look at past history. RB don’t get paid, especially when they are 30 which Ingram almost is. His last contract was $4 mil per when he was 26 years old so I would think the same deal when he’s 4 years older would be more than fair. Some may not like my Jesse James pick but I watched what he could do for the Steelers and I think he would be the closest thing to giving Brees Jimmy Graham back while still not breaking the bank.

Sorry it’s not to you’re liking tigerbait2008, I’m sure you can do much much better. As a matter of fact let’s just call Loomis and tell him you are on the way to save the day. Don’t be a dickhead just to be one kid, it doesn’t make you look cool.

Peats play has dropped off the last couple of years and he's not really worth investing in. Yes, he's versatile, but I'd rather get a good guard and a reasonable backup OT for the same money.

He's hurt a lot and when he's not, he hasn't blown anyone away. He's actually gotten consistently worse the last two years.
