carr is better than rattler right now, but i'd like to see what rattler can do with a healthy oline and wr corps now that he has some experience under his belt and a full off-season on the way.. he did a solid job this year given the circumstances. designating carr as a post june 1st cut has the same cap implications as restructuring his deal and cutting him after next year

The problem here is Rattler is going the same road as Carr. Multiple coaching regimes. Learning new offenses. Carr can't stay healthy so Rattler will get another shot next year.

A good oline and NFL WRs will make a difference.

We are a year or two away from the playoffs . Keep Carr and Rattler as 1 and 2. If you can save a ton of money cut Carr and just go with Rattler.

If he sucks high draft pick next year for a qb if he is good then jackpot

whoever the new coach is most likely will be a Yes man to Mickey which is just fricking brutal.

There is being aligned but then there is being delusional.

What is there to gain by keeping Carr around?

No one can give a well thought answer to that question, I think.

The typical answer: "Gives us the best chance to win"

win 6-8 games, maybe.

The Saints are stuck and it's not all his fault, but we have been boring/mediocre and then boring/bad the last 2 seasons. I'd rather be entertaining and bad than boring/bad.

Carr can throw a good deep ball and touch pass at times but he's checking it down all of the other times and its punting time. For a guy who makes a lot of checks at the line like he knows how to do, it's maddening watch him not pull the trigger on some throws or just space out.

But I'm sure he's staying so... WOO!

He cost too much to get rid of. That's the proper answer. Forget cutting him or trading him. He's here next year and unless Rattler looks like Marino in training camp, Carr is our starter QB next year.

understood but Carr is a mid 30's guy.

Not durable.

he's gotten hurt both seasons he's been here.

Just ranting like usual.

not trying to call you or anyone else out.

We are nowhere near 1-2 years away. We have the worst roster in football with currently the worst scouting department and GM in football. How in the world do you think this will be a playoff team in 2026 or 2027?

I agree but we have to roll with him.

His injuries aren't season ending but I'm wondering about his decisions or team decisions to keep him out. If his throwing hand is fine, why isn't he out there?

you are on to something there.

It's as if he's entitled to cause doubt there. And that is truly concerning. Simulated practices?

come on!

They never put him on IR, but didn't he say at first, he'd end up there? Maybe he didn't but this guy suspect still to me.

I still cannot get over the fact that a Dennis Allen coached team with Andy Dalton beat Carr and the Raiders in 2023 24-0 at the Dome.

and then the Saints signed Carr because the Raiders didn't want him ANYMORE!!!!! NO MORE!!!!!!!! NO MORE!!!!!!!!! NO MORE!!!!!!!!

but here we are today with him as QB1

I prefer a quarterback with repeated starts who has actually won an NFL game.

Everyone on here is crying for Baker, three different teams didn’t want him. Three different teams didn’t want Darnold. SF gave another team a first to take Goff. That’s how bad they wanted to get rid of him.

All are in the playoffs…..

Remind me what Peyton Mannings record was as a rookie in 16 games.
