Rattler 0-10 as a starter
And he ain’t the problem

Still, it's close to time (if not already time) to turn it over to Shough and see what he can do.
If he wins great, if he loses we should stick with rattler. Rattler is not why we losing. He had a bad pass in the end zone for sure but we weren't winning today even if he made that throw.

Rattler isn't good. But, he's playing a lot better than could have reasonably been expected.
He’s playing better than expected because he isn’t taking even the slightest risk. He’s dead last in the NFL in yards per completion at 8.0, and he was at 7 today so that number will dip some more.
To put that in perspective, Daniel Jones was last in the league last season at 9.6 yards per completion. Rattler will dip below 8 after today.
I’m all for seeing Shough, but if Rattler doesn’t start pushing the ball more downfield it becomes a necessity

Rattler gets a pass because he’s not turning the ball over, but he’s not even a threat to move the ball down the field. Hes also really struggling with identifying and calling out protections.
He’s a good backup or temp starter, but we can’t rely on him as the future. Time to see what Shough has.

We don't know if it's kellen Moore putting a leash on him either.

If Shough doesn’t play this year then he was basically a bust. He isn’t good enough to beat out Rattler or even play a few series here and there. Rattler and Shough aren’t long term answers anyway. It’s disappointing to waste a 2nd round pick. Hopefully Moore will learn from it. The only thing is if Shough was forced on Moore? I guess we won’t know.

I dont know I would say that.
Love sat for 3 years behind Rogers.
Mahomes Sat for 1 year behind Smith.
Brees sat behind Flutie
Brady sat behind Bledso
Some of the best in the league, sat behind to learn the system.
Some QBs dont have to sit behind a starter, but it does help.

He's a mid round draft pick that has no business starting. Your expectations were way too high.

A necessity for what? It's time (or very close to it) for Shough because it's time to find out what you have in him and how far he can progress with 10+ games under his belt. It should have nothing to do with winning and losing in the short term.

Rattler's job is to not lose the game.....that's the defense's job apparently

You’re right! Screw having a QB who can escape a rush and still make the tough completions!
The Saints need a QB who just needs the right chance! A guy who can stand in a perfectly formed pocket and so long as there is no pressure, throw dimes to receivers who never drop passes. The Saints need a guy who is perfect for the 7 on 7 drills! That’s elite! You just can’t coach that!

I had zero expectations for Rattler, though being so far below the guy that ranked last last season in ypc never even occurred to me
