I'm always really wary of these guys who are considered to be at one level based on their actual play, and then go to the Combine or have a Pro Day where they run a faster 40 than everyone expected and suddenly they're bumped up to a whole 'nother level. You know...the guys who's draft stock suddenly skyrockets post-Combine because they measure an inch taller or pile up the bench press reps. I mean, does everyone think the kid played his whole college career at one speed, evident in all his game film, and then in the last couple of months has increased his speed substantially? Not shaved a few hundredth off...I mean really gained a whole impactful amount of speed? Or gained the kind of strength that will change his game?

The dude produced what he produced on field. Don't get sucked into the "well, he played at one level when I thought he had X speed, but now that I know he has X-1 speed I expect him to perform at a much higher level". Those guys disappoint every year.

He’ll never fall late 2nd round. I’d love a WR but I think at this point we need another DE or C/G for depth.

I know we have Hendrickson but we really needed Ansah or Quinn and we haven’t gotten either one. I’d say DE is just as important as any other need right now. Could use another safety too. Honestly, since we got Cook, it would probably be smarter to invest in a DE, C/G, or safety over a WR

#Memphis RB Darrell Henderson has 3 teams – #Saints, #Jets, and #Titans – on campus today to work him out, I’m told. A rising prospect who could land at the top of the 2nd or even late 1st, his Pro Day was attended by RB coaches from #Eagles, #Giants, #Cowboys and #Ravens.

Per source, Old Dominion DE Tim Ward continue to garner interest around the league. Had dinner with Saints DL coach last night.

i saw a game of his against Michigan St. last year and he had a good game.

and the strength of Michigan State was their defense.

i'm hoping for a WR, OL, or maybe a DB when we pick in Round 2.

Damn Chad you are all over the scoop.

Honestly I would love to see us grab another lineman of Ramczyk's quality.

If Ferguson is around he's a must take. I don't think he will be though.

Notre Dame DT Jerry Tillery is flying to New Orleans today to visit the #Saints, source said -- the first of 7 visits over 9 days ... and 7 chances to reiterate how important football is to him. He had shoulder surgery after the combine, remains on track for training camp.

Interesting. I think Tillery will end up going in the top 20 picks when it's all said and done.

What’s the point of saying he needs to prove how important football is to him?

Not sure. He was suspended for the Fiesta bowl as a freshman for unspecified off the field stuff, had an Suh instance on the field stomping people, called for Kelly to be fired and replaced by Les Miles. That was all early in his career at ND though. He's a really smart dude apparently

Been seeing a lot of Chris Jones comps

But when Tillery bypassed the Senior Bowl in January — he had reasons he’ll explain in a minute — it was analyzed as football being unimportant to him. When Tillery took advantage of every study-abroad opportunity at Notre Dame, it had to be because he wasn’t committed to football. Tillery didn’t fit in a box, but he is playing a sport that values people who fit in boxes. And so the question was asked and asked and asked.

How much does Tillery love football?

His athleticism at his height/weight is pretty special. Many pundits are calling him a top 10 talent in the draft

We would almost certainly have to move up into late first/early second to get Tillery right ?
