Dumb.
You don't go to camp with 3 QBs all having a total of 3 years experience. Really dumb.

We all know he isn't gonna be the guy in 2026, so what are we getting him ready for?
Why do we know this? He hasn’t played a down in the NFL yet.

You want a veteran QB in your offseason program and camp. And preferably on the sideline to talk to your young guy in between series.
Yes, it helps that there are 3 QBs on the Coaching staff. But they are coaches.
There’s a different connection with current players.

I’m ok with Wentz.
And his skill set seems similar to Tyler Shough's. Might be an interesting way to go for a year..

We did. He’s called the head coach.
61 upvotes not understanding the difference between a coach and a player.

Yeah but it won't matter much. We're basically just remixing Shuler, Billy Joe, Wuerffel, and Nuss for a new era of Saints fans.

Let me guess, Taysom Hill’s presence and involvement won’t be good enough for this role? He’s exactly what you are wanting and couldn’t ask for a better guy for shuck.

Kellen Moore declares open QB competition among Tyler Shough, Jake Haener, Spencer Rattler
The problem with bringing in a mentor QB is that unless they know Moore's system forwards and backwards, they'll be taking snaps away from the 3 main candidates who, let's face it, need all the snaps they can get before the season starts.
If you trust Moore, then you might as well start to trust his process. It might blow up in his face, but then the Saints will have a high draft pick next year to try again.

Meeting with reporters on Saturday, coach Kellen Moore was asked whether he views Shough as the starting quarterback.
“We’re going to let all three of these guys roll,” coach Kellen Moore told reporters on Saturday, “and they’ve all earned these opportunities. We’ll let Jake, Spencer, and Tyler — all three kind of go through this process.”
Moore expressed confidence that, one the preseason starts, “one of these guys will rise” to the starting job.

A free agent QB I’m ok with acquiring….
Don’t trade any draft picks to bring in a veteran !!!!
Another caveat…. Loomis better not spend that$30 million dollars he just luckily received !!

He hasn’t been cut yet right?
Pickett is most likely going to start for the browns.
Supposedly they told him after trading for him that he would get the chance to be qb1.

You spent 3 draft picks on 3 quarterbacks in 3 consecutive years….
How bout letting the NEW Head Coach evaluate those players he’s never seen !!
Geaux with what you have and leave the draft capital alone !
