I get your enthusiasm and I'm as excited as the next guy about this upcoming season. But there is really no point in putting PT through the beating when we don't need him to carry this offense. We have the best passing offense in the league and only need a running game to balance that.

This guy is an absolute beast! He is the prototypical NFL back. Great size, speed and strength, everything coaches kill for in a RB. And, he rushed for almost 5.0 a pop, which is more than Clinton Portis, Thomas Jones, Frank Gore and Steven jackson. I think he could possibly lead the NFC in rushing this year.

quote:

Have you seen his size? Show me more backs in the NFL, include their height and weight, and prove he isn't a beast. Yards per carry is a big indicator (4.8) that he can reach 2,000 yards this season.

quote:

He will get 350 touches on the ground in this offense this year. Book it!

I agree with all this. Payton will realize that his way didn't work last year and he will make himself call running plays like 2006. After the third game when PT has 450 rushing while splitting carries, Bush will be an after thought and will only come in on passing downs which we won't have that many of because PT will be rushing for 5.5 yards per carry.
PT will break the Saints single season rushing TD record, but will fall two or three short of the NFL single season rushing record. He will also destroy the Saints single season rushing record.
BOOK IT!!!

Mr Sangina, I see your sarcasm with this thread (and am surprised others don't), but I will present you with this.

P. Thomas - 5'11" 215 lbs
A. Peterson - 6'1" 217 lbs

Peterson has 2 inches and 2 lbs on Thomas, so yes, in your sarcasm you actually hit on a fact; Thomas is built to be an everydown RB.

according to ChadBoy, because of his YPC, he should break the single season rushing record with the right amount of carries

This thread also has the case of the ghey.

But nice sarcasm Gyno..I especially like the part about Devery getting thrown to 15 times. U should put that in the Devery thread.

thomas is overrated for this year, asking too much out of him. Bush will flourish this year if hes not hurt!

Thomas is definitely overrated on THIS THREAD but I agree with your opinion on Bush. I liked what I saw last year until he got hurt. He was turning into a true gamebreaker.

Your post and opinion is the only thing that is overrated. PT however will never be overrated. Even when you rate him as the best RB in football, that's not rating him high enough. I mean the guy started over Rashard Mendenhall at Illinois. Rashard F'n Mendenhall!!!
