Guys like him really are funny. They come up with a stupid idea, have no clue how stupid it actually is, then laugh at people for trying to tell them why it's stupid.

There's no hope for people like him. He'll probably be like this for the rest of his life.

If we are being honest and not simply being homers and valuing our players over others, then Yes.

You get rid of Haener to pick up Matt Corral. Corral is the much better prospect.

However, seeing as we already drafted Haener 2 rds before projections, just bc he went to Fresno State like D Carr, I doubt that we have the balls to do the right thing here. The Saints are currently more interested in
Putting together a group of friends than a winning football team. It is what it is.

That’s cool. And I see your name and assume you’re an Ole Miss fan. Which explains this thread, which is not a terrible take. I’m not a scout or expert QB evaluator, but I really liked Corral in college. Not sure how he projects as an NFL QB, but as an LSU fan, I know I hated playing against him. He may be a better NFL QB prospect than Haener. I don’t know. But it’s not a crazy take.

However, thinking he could be anything like Taysom in the NFL is. Taysom, even at his age, is still one of the best athletes in the entire NFL. He is an athletic freak.

Who views Matt Corral as anything more than a camp body?

Taysom's not that much faster than Corral in the same way he's not much faster than me.

I like it.

But let’s be real. One guy got 1st rd buzz and the other guy it wasn’t even certain if he’d be drafted.

One guy played at a high level in the SEC West. The other guy played at a High level in the Mountain West?

One guy is 6ft 2. The other is 6ft tall.

And that’s before we get to the film.

No, I like Haener, kid just needs some time to develop and he'll become good in time I think.

Corral scored a 15 on the wonderlic...

Haener reportedly scored in the 96th percentile.

One guy has been on an NFL team absolutely desperate for a QB and just got cut.

Bruh Haener is not a bad QB. He’s not Mahomes but he’s done better than most guys we’ve drafted over the years.

I want see Haener in year 2. He can be our back up. Carr and Haener will be only 2 on roster next year.

Matt ran a 4.8

Do you know if that was before or after he had that bad injury in the bowl game? I know he didn't run the 40 at the combine but can't recall if he did at his Pro Day.

Also, I am sure the foot injury last year would not further help his 40 time.

Back to OP, why do they need to drop Haener? I am not a Corral fan and was glad he went to an NFC South team. If the Saints valued him as a prospect and wanted to develop him, they could just throw him on their PS and still keep Haener.

Looks like the greatest coach of all time agreed with me so maybe I'm not dumb after all.
