Top TEs

Just using this list, any of those top six would be a perfect fit for Brees in this offense:

Mark Andrews
Dallas Goedert
Mike Gesicki
Hayden Hurst
Chris Herndon

Free Agents:
Jimmy Graham
Trey Burton
Cameron Brate

This offseason just works perfectly for us.

Biggest needs:
Offense: WR/TE
- Both free agency and draft are full of high quality guys

Defense: DE, LB, and S
- Draft has a good handful of DE and S potentials, not so much FA
- Draft and FA are full of game changing LBers

We have money to be able to afford a LB, TE, and WR in free agency. We have decent DE depth, but we could very well get a quality DE and S with our first 2 picks if it lines up perfect.

Brate is restricted. Not sure he will be easy to pry away.

They also got Howard who somewhat flashed on and off during the season. If they think he will be the guy then they arent going to invest much in Brate

And the best TE in this draft just might be Adam Breneman of UMass (formerly Penn State).

I'm assuming they're going to put a 2nd round tender on him and dangle him for trades.

The better option is definitely Burton. Philly is in cap hell, 7.3mil over the projected cap. They have LOTS of free agents that contributed: Sproles (not this year), Bradham, Burton, Graham, Blount, PRob.

They have some big decisions to make and I think its perfect time to poach Robinson back. He was amazing in the slot and unfortunately PJ Williams and Vaccaro were not very good.

Brees spreads the ball around so much, it's been hard to get his WRs into the Pro Bowl, until this year, mostly out necessity as MT13 was his only consistent WR playmaker.

But he's helped create two all-pro TE's in Gates & Graham.

Brees is better when he can target a reliable athletic TE, so let's grab him another "G" and my pick is Goedert.

Goedert looks like the real deal to me.

He won't last unless we trade into the 2nd round, which could happen. I still think there's value in Burton, Brate or Sefarian Jenkins. That way we could focus on adding to our D in the draft

Agree.

Burton would be my first choice then maybe P. Robinson also.

Definitely spend draft picks on the Defense.

If we use anything other than a late-round (5th or later) pick on a TE, that means we've swung and missed on one in FA.

Tight ends are a plug and play need in this offense, and rookie TEs not named Evan Engram don't do much, stats-wise, in their first season.

As for free agents, Cameron Brate is at the top of my list.

With the WR and TE crop in free agency we can probably get good value there and draft for defense.

I will be very sad if we don't win our 2nd superbowl until after Brees retires. Would be the ultimate slap to his face after a legendary career

I like Fumagalli a lot too, but Dallas is special. Can we have both?

And it will be because we couldn't get him a defense. If Brees and this offense had the defenses that Brady has, Brees would have several rings too.
