Lauscha, Loomis and Payton were the voices in her ear since she took over (and Tom in the years preceding his death). I think both of them would want to cement their futures in the franchise to seek commensurate value for Sean. I think the compensation cost for getting him has to be baked into Sean’s expectation for wherever he goes.

We had Britney Spears but now she is 75 years old. The saints will be relevant again in about 6-8 years.

I don`t know why so many people dislike Mickey Loomis,he`s
the one that built the SB winner.After they won the SB Sean
got the power and the Saints haven`t been back.It was SP
who wanted to bring in all those free agents that were busts.He reached for them and came up snake eyes.
Jason David was a zone corner who SP tried to make him a
man cover guy ,hence the nickname smoked David.The signing
of J Bird was a disaster,the cat from Seattle was a bust all
on SP.His coaching in the playoffs sucked.He refused to tell HIS DC to knock San Frans tightend on his arse and let
him beat us.The garbage play calling in playoff games.ETC.

It sorta makes sense that they can't waste a high 1st on a QB with Dennis Allen as HC, who will ruin him.
Get as many picks as we can, we will suck again next year, Allen gets fired, and we have 2 1sts, one of them high, to draft a QB or move up for a Caleb Williams type, with an Offensive HC.
