No doubt. I'm more specifically referring to things such as THIS, however. With more to come.
Yes, the southern part of Louisiana, including offshore, has no natural resources that generated tax revenue for the state, including the northern parts.

Yeah...so is Detroit.
Great cities aren't murder capitals.

Did you figure that out on your own?
All I'm saying is Shreveport isn't what it was in the eighties or nineties. It's actually thriving, and in some cases, surpassing the southern most parts of the state in population, jobs, recreation, and service sector.
BR/NO/Lafayette have their strong points as well, but S'port/Bossier is primed and ready for an economic boom. The gas discovery (approx. 5,000 new jobs), the Cyber Command Center (app. 10,000 new jobs), all the industry and shipping that will come with I-69 and I-49 when completed, this place will start to blossom. It already has.

I'm pretty sure Paul Allen's mom was mounted by a horse in Shreveport. That's the only reason I can think of for his hostility towards the place.

I didn't know the I-10 corridor went offshore

Yeah, I don't even have a dog in this hunt, but this guy's beef is ridiculous.

It's night and day just from a few years ago, especially out north of Airline.

Wow you friggin rantards amaze me sometimes. I have been to Shreveport and there are ALOT more Saints/LSU fans there than Dallas/UT fans. Whats even funnier is there was 50k,about 37k Saints fans BTW, at Independence Stadium for the Saints/Cowboys game, and there were about what, 15k at TS and about 10k of those were there sucking off Saban and the Dolphins.

PA - I have read several of your posts and come to the conclusion that you really do not know anyhting about the dynamics of this state.
Where are you from? Are you originally from Baton Rouge? Which contrarty to belief is not really a part of what is traditioanlly thought of as South LA.
Can you explain the similarities between Lafayette and BR? BR and NOLA? NOLA and Lafayette?
support of an NFL team does not count as a similarity for cities.

Yeah, Monroe belongs to the Mississippi delta region, and Alexandria belongs to MS as well. The I-10/I-12 corridor is the economic nucleus of this state...that's the way it has been and always will be.

Everything....the people, food, and lack of any significant Louisiana culture. What are some of the similarities that Shreveport has with Lafayette, NOLA, or Baton Rouge?

While I am not supporting PA, the above statement is retarded. It's as simple as looking at a map.
Alexandria is damn near the geographical center of the state. Everything south of there is, by definition, South Louisiana:

I am not talking geographical I am talking cultural. Baton Rouge is not predominatley Catholic, not a part of Acadiana, not a part of the Greater New Orleans area. It is a part of the Florida Parishes. Cross the river and you are in what has always been consideded South LA, stay east and norht and you are running with Baker, Hammond, JAckson and the rest of the necks that mirror the Northern part of the state.

Probably so, but I was trying to make a point to PA. What is that you disagree with and maybe I can clarify what I mean.

i'd love to see some one from alabama jump in on this conversation. we'd all probably jump his/her arse for talking shite about LA like a pac-10 fan talking shite about the SEC.
IMO, if you live in shreveport and are saints fan congrats for supporting you state's team and not jumping on the girls wagon. your city is pretty cool.
if you're a cowgirls fan and living in shreveport then please go frick yourself. you and your shithole city should burn to the fricking ground. loser!
