I’ve said since last season, needs to move to left guard. He’s overthinking everything on the edge. Coaches know better tho….

I mean you have to understand why they are at least trying him at rt after spending pick 17 on him.

It was just a bad pick. He might be a little better inside but he gets beat with quickness. He would whiff a bunch inside too. It's worth a shot tho.

Sit him, cut him, I don’t give a frick. Either get Landon Young ready to start at RT or sign someone. David Bakhtiari is still available but

Landon young is shite too. Why do you think he is the answer?

They are behind the 8 ball as far as right tackle. There isn't much out there.

I'd see if I could convince Charles leno to play rt. I think he is still coming back from an injury.

I’m pretty good friends with an offensive lineman who was on the team last year, and he claims that Penning is a fricking retard. Like coaches have to speak slowly to him

I've said this since day one. He isn't very smart.

You can see it with his play
This is why I think they benched him. He just wasn't getting it. The guy is slow.

I can't believe this dumb organization didn't have a decent backup plan ready.

Like how could they think this was a good idea

. Yes, there are always diamonds in the rough from small schools, and also busts from big programs, but usually a guy is at UTSA, Northern Iowa, etc for a reason. He wasn't a good enough player to play at a power conf. level

Right. Take those guys in the 3rd round like you did with Armstead. Such a bad pick.

They had a chance to just draft a more sure thing and didn't. So bad

This is on the front office. They spend hours interviewing these players and watching practices. Talking to coaches. No reason to not know if he’s a damn caveman or not.

Scouting has been atrocious the last few years. I do think they got this years draft right tho.

not sure there's a team that's invested more into their lines and has such little to show for it than the saints
Every time we don’t make the playoffs, people complain that the Saints win meaningless games and ruin draft status, and others say shut up let’s just win. Here is the result. Middle round picks are risky, a lot of money for not a lot of sure things. We get those ultra talented risks. Maybe next time we just tank and get an elite talent

I'm sure the guys in the Saints locker room would love to hear your speech on playing to lose every week.

Give us a taste eh?

Move him to guard and see if he can make it there, pick up a free agent or make a trade for a tackle. If he can’t win guard job then send him to the Canadian football league

It would start by not trying to keep decent veteran talent on backloaded deals who are good enough to win half the time but not good enough to win a championship. Should have never signed Carr, among others. Take your licks and rebuild.

Penning isn't coachable.

this is so disheartening. for frick's sake. and one of the worst parts is, the staff gave him the starting LT spot last year and then has given him the starting RT spot without either having been earned.

Exactly. Bad management. At least last yr you had Hurst to help out some.

They needed to replace hurst this yr with a similar guy.
Imo they haven't. And da just keeps doubling down on penning.

I almost hope we lose just to get rid of Dennis Allen. I never thought I would say that as a saints fan.

Well he played better at LT than LG and for $2M and our other options...

I'm not proclaiming him to be an all-pro, but for $2M

They tried to sign peat back. He wanted a change.

The problem is they didn't replace peat or Hurst with comparable players.
