Penning on track to be ready by early Nov following surgery

Looks like around week 9, which would be Nov 7 against the Ravens. Good time to have a possible key player come back in the lineup. Good to hear he’ll be able to get more development his rookie year

This is by far the best scenario that could have been hoped for.

That would be just about the best case scenario but I would be shocked if he was already back in the lineup by Nov 7th. I’d guess late November if everything goes well. Let him take it slow for a few weeks at practice

Yeah unless we have guys hurt on the line I don’t think they will rush him back.

4-6 weeks would have been better but "early" November is better than nothing assuming we can muster up a playoff run.

It has everything to do with don't count on it until he walks out of that tunnel ready to go

There is no way to truly determine a lisfranc injury. I bet November is the goal but that little bone in your foot when you are that big is a major issue to deal with. This is not an injury you rush and take chances with.

To be fair (to your point of waiting until he walks out the tunnel) I recall MT coming back on track, based on when he finally had the surgery, he just had a reinjury in the week leading up to his return that shut him down for the rest of the season.
There was also a player a few years ago that was dressed and ready to go coming back from injury, but his pregame warmups determined he wasn't ready and was out another 2 weeks. Don't recall who it was, but it was a big deal

In case you haven't noticed this is a very violent sport and injuries are all a part of it. The coaches, players, people who have played the game and the majority of fans know this.
The occasional fan who only puts down their video controller to suck their thumb has a hard time dealing with this.
I believe at this point most people know that MT messed up by try to avoid surgery by rehabbing on his own but I don't think any teammates or coach believe that he purposefully sat on his arse to avoid playing.

Correct. MT has nothing to do with this thread. My comment was about the legitimacy of injury reporting. "Reports" had MT week to week for what felt like an entire season. We all hope the Penning timeline is legit. Just don't pencil him back in the lineup for the first week of Nov yet.
