Is turf toe a quicker recovery for a lineman than a skill player?

He will likely be put on IR

Olave is ready to go and already WR3.

He needs to be a strong 2/borderline 1 to justify the cost. That's the problem.

Why are you being so dumb? He'll get there one day dude, we're not even at week 1 and he's got two all-pro/prowbowl vets in front of him. chill.

The first time I ever heard of turf toe was when Archie Manning suffered it when he fell into the old dugout benches at Tulane Stadium. Remember those?

It sounded like a minor injury but it was no joke. It affected him the whole year.

If I remember right that also happened in pre season. Or very early in the year.

Wait.

I haven't been keeping up with preseason.

We used a 1st on Penning and he's not even starting.

Holy shite this draft...

You can't be serious.

He is raw. They wanted him to start by mid year.

Olave will at minimum be a strong 2. He is already giving cornerbacks trouble.

Horrible takes all around. Have you ever watched football?

For that cost, he needs to be there quickly.

The entire point of drafting elite WRs early is to have them cost-controlled. With every snap that we don't realize that value, the cost looks worse.

You don't give up insane draft capital for a non-QB who may be elite in year 3. That's extremely -EV.

I've read a lot of articles looking at trades from value standpoints and while, yes, I understand the numbers behind complaints, if you trust your talent evaluators and decision makers then you go get your guy and not some other guy. Look at the draft 2, 3, 4 years ago and cherry pick trading up for player A, B, or C. Some trades are more than what you potentially could have had when you're happy with what you got. Especially since the draft isn't anywhere near a perfect science, so why evaluate it like one?

Plus both guys are cost controlled for 5 years now. That could be a lifetime for a football team that feels the window is still open.

Saint have 5 years of much lower cost.

Technically yes, but in realty no. If Olave comes close to justifying the draft capital spent on him he will have a new contract heading into year 4.

There is no scenario where Olave both plays out his full 5 year rookie contract and justifies the trade.

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that those contracts are extensions technically and give more room for spreading out bonus money.

That sounds like it could be correct? I’ll have to pay attention to what happens with Jordan Jefferson this offseason as that will surely tell.

Wait until these guys find out Olave is just a possession receiver that doesn't offer anything in the open field and nothing after the catch that they moved up in the draft for and made the third receiver selected.

Nothing after the catch? So, what you are telling everyone is that you have not watched him at all at Ohio State or do not follow football.

Olave is a possession receiver now? Far from it. Don't think you know what that means.

I think he means it like Brandon Cooks. Limited after that catch. That's a popular report on him.

I think (hope?) people were just comparing him to his teammate who was elite I'm the open field

You yourself said to justify the cost he needs to be a strong wr2 to wr1. You literally just posted that .

Give it up dude, making yourself look like even more of a clown in this thread. Should’ve just stopped when you admitted you haven’t been paying attention at all.
