I am liking our draft a lot better this year over the last three years.
I think Payton, Belichick, and some of the other old guard draft experts had gotten a little stale in the last five years.
Love the new approach to go get top ranked players instead of picking some unknown a round or two too early.

Turner could still end up being a beast, not sure i get this thread

My biggest thing was that we filled immediate needs in the first round as opposed to drafting project guys in positions we already had depth at. I was terrified we would draft one of these QBs and have to settle for a 50/50 guy in the second round. Penning and Olave are Day 1 starters.

Filling needs as opposed to BPA usually works out well, right?

Turner was a huge reach regardless of how good he is.
He would have been there in the 2nd round

I'm of the opinion that it is much tougher to find great LOS players than skill players (outside of QB). So reaching a bit on a lineman, IMO, is better than doing so on a WR, CB, RB, etc.
Still, the selection of Ruiz seemed to be unnecessary relative to other needs and Turner seemed like a bit of a reach. However, it is unfair to label Turner a "bad pick" right now.

Absolutely. He stays healthy and we have something with him. In his short time playing he flashed big time talent.

I love that people post this with such certainty when it's been proven that every team has their own rankings and draft boards and not everyone follows Kiper, McShay, and the 10,000 mock drafts.
