Payton’s contractual term and compensation

Case law is pretty clear that he can’t simply sit out and walk away from the contract. Of course we don’t know exactly what his contract says.

And this is why you get rid of Loomis before that and get in a new guy with no allegiance.
I am thankful for what Payton did for The team and city, but he is the one that bailed on his commitment, and not the Saints.
You hold him accountable for the terms of his deal and if you as a company have the right to fight it to be in to perpetuity, then you do.
The most successful teams are successful because they don’t play the sentimental game. Period. Patriots are a example.
You paid him handsomely for his time here, a little leeway is one thing, but not what they are asking.
Hold firm with 2 firsts and holding onto his rights beyond 2024 based on your legal rights. Chances are he is going to a team with a late first, which is worth way less to begin with.

Short of a scandal, Loomis is t going anywhere. Just put that notion out of your mind. Loomis is a future owner of the Saints and your best bet is for him to take a figurehead job and promote someone else to GM.

Loomis owes nothing to a coach who's agent was in contact with miami about CSP coaching there. Why some of yall think this is no big deal in the nfl world is a mystery

Compensation is worth talking about my guess saints ask for 2 1st and more including other high draft picks AND players then settle for something like this:
1- 1st
1- 2nd or 3rd
And a player like Josh Palmer or Jerry Jeudy

The fact that the Saints were a game away from the playoff with Winston-Simeon-Hill-Book at QB shows Peyton’s worth. He’s a good coach, period. The Saints need to gamble on a younger offensive minded coach like the Dolphins got.

I've always been of this stance but I'm starting to change my mind.
Loomis knows he has to get a good return for payton.
