Warford is gone. Might only get a 6th round pick for him but Saints have depth on the interior now so there's no reason to hang on to him anymore.
FWIW I'm not a Warford hater, he's a great player. I think this is more about getting ahead of the contract situations that are about to play out over the next 2 years with Warford, Ramczyk, Lattimore, Kamara, etc. Simply can't afford to pay Warford what he's going to want and only way to get anything in return is to trade him now before he's a free agent.
FWIW I'm not a Warford hater, he's a great player. I think the issue is people think Payton, Loomis and Ireland are not to be questioned.
They’ve also made awful awful decisions in free agency and the draft too. Ireland may have given the dolphins some good Ol/ DL but they won absolutely nothing from what he built. They had a winning season his first year and then not a single winning season until 3 years after he left.
Fact is that Ireland is way overrated. History shows he builds mediocrity.
