When people doubt the saints or Payton, he loves proving them wrong.... everyone in media been saying Sean is basically a liar and has no plans of Taysom being a QB.

So shouldn’t be shocked he might take this opportunity to shut them up

I don’t understand why you even bring in Jameis if he isn’t even going to play when Brees is out.

Also, Payton is not afraid to be wrong. Unlike so many NFL coaches, he's got genuine balls.

I’m surprised at so many people shitting on playing Taysom. It’s not a certainty that jameis is or will be better than taysom. It’s fair to say that we pretty much know who jameis is as a quarterback. We don’t know who taysom is as an NFL quarterback and I tend to think if his ceiling is higher than that of jameis.

I’m excited to see him play. And hopefully the rams will knock off the bucs to give us a little breathing room in Brees’ absence.

lol, dude we got him for a measly 1.1 million because no one else wanted to pay him real money. IF Taysom struggles, Crab Legs will go in. Relax

I’m relaxed bro. I still don’t see why you bring in a guy that led the league in passing yards if he’s not even second string, also why did he come in last week? What possibly could have changed between then and now?

Sean admitted on SNF 2 years ago that he gets too comfy with playing guys that know their assignments over playing more talented guys who don't know their assignments. (This was after "backup Davenport had a great game, but the declining Okafor had actually started.)

Jameis did look lost last week. Maybe, it was more playbook-related than just rust.

Because Winston is almost getting paid 3rd string money so it was a win win pickup.

Didn’t Sean Payton praise Jameis for being “smart” and “picking up the playbook” like just earlier this week?

#1 reps all week.

Winston was likely getting #2 while Hill was #3 in previous weeks.

Probably the 2 dropped interceptions by SF last weekend. It reminded Sean that he had 30 last season.

Maybe Sean thinks/knows Taysom has already picked up the playbook, while the Jameis, who is smart, is still "picking up the playbook" as evidenced by some miscues last week?

Also... I bet a big factor is Atlanta knows Jameis and he’s thrown a ton of picks to them.... I wonder if this wasn’t a nfc south opponent if Jameis wouldn’t be starting.

Because we were in the middle of a game where Taysom was already part of the gameplan in other roles. You can't change the entire gameplan that you've prepared all week for in the middle of the game. So let Jameis finish the game and let Taysom do his usual thing, and then you figure out what to do with them in the week leading up to the next game.

It just seems strange to go out of your way to talk positively about him picking up the playbook so well, if the issue is him picking up the playbook. I think this is smoke and mirrors honestly. You don’t start a guy with 11 career completions at 30 years old at QB, when you have one of the leagues best back up QBs

Because we need a 3rd string QB and a 1st string rapist.
