Nothings changed as far as trying to compete next year. Got lots here saying we should blow it up. I couldn't disagree more

When he didnt have a HOF QB, it became hard and he quit. About sums it up.

What he accomplished in 2021 makes him the best coach I've ever seen in recent history.

We have so much talent on both sides of the ball. That's why Payton leaving is so surprising to me.

Thanks coach for delivering by far the best era in Saints history. Enjoy retirement. Even if he does go somewhere else in a couple years like his mentor Parcells I won't hold any grudges.

For the past 15 years, it was a pleasure to have coach Payton and the Boys pass through Atlantic Aviation and unto their team plane. While they may continue to do so. It’s going to be sad not having our coach there any longer.
Thank you coach Payton for making the Saints organization a proud organization. Thank you for helping this city win a super bowl championship! Thank you for being a leader even when dealing with adversity from the commissioner of the league.

Best of good fortune to your family and your players ! God bless !

He's the best coach because he managed a covid team, injuries and won 8 games...and didnt make the playoffs. Yeah.

Thanks for history Payton but I been saying that guy was lazy. This proves the rule.

It got tough and a rebuild was happening. He retires.

Sean Payton was vested for about half the seasons in NOLA. He coasted the other half.

Dude probably had years taken off his life this year with all the injuries and Covid stupidity. 16 years is one hell of a run in the NFL. Few coaches last half as long with one team. Only Belichick has lasted longer in the modern era....but then again, he is the devil incarnate.

Better yet, he super fricked the cap for years and years...then walked away.

You got to LOL at it.
