Dont be so naive. Payton knew this story was gonna hit, and he let the information out at the peak of the NFL season. If he truly cared whether people knew, he wouldnt have done it after he spent all weekend with Jerry Jones.

All I'm gonna say is this is not about NOLA being good or bad nor a better school for the kids. You don't pull your kids out of school in Jan. Feb. don't tell me it can't wait till the end of the school year.

It's something personal and I think we all know what that is.

For sake of argument why does this matter?

Thats funny because i don't know what you're speaking about. Please enlighten me with what you 'know' the reasoning is and what your base is for believing that.

Why does it matter? Payton is NOT from New Orleans, his job is there! Who gives a shite about where his wife, kids and dogs reside? He is paid to coach the Saints.... his contract doesn't require him to keep a home in New Orleans.

If he can do his job, and perform his duties with his home in Dallas, so be it!

If he's doing it to take a job with Dallas when his contract is up with the Saints so be it... it's his God given right! Not everyone LOVES New Orleans....I personally don't see why anyone would chose to live near the place. But I know some love it, Sean obviously doesn't! As long as he keeps winning it won't matter where he lives!

Then sean has to be the stupidest dude on earth to spend this amount of bank for a house in a marriage about to fail.

Sean Payton is rich. Rich people like multiple houses in nice places. He already has one in Fl and he isn't coaching the Jags/Bucs/Dolphins.
Mandeville is a nice place to live if you have some bucks. Mandeville isnt as nice as some parts of Dallas are if you have mega bucks. The private schools in Dallas are better than the schools in Mandeville. Lots of cool stuff to do in Dallas if you got the bucks. Not so much in Mandeville.
In Mandeville no Mercedes or BMW dealers, no tiffany's, no Cartier, etc etc etc.
Be honest with your selves if you had the bucks SP makes and your wife wanted another home in Dallas you would get it for her. You would want your kids to go to the best schools you could afford.
SP is a good guy let him and his family enjoy the money and life's luxuries they can afford. He has done an incredible job in NO. Thanks SP enjoy the fruits of your labor! Keep kiddos and Mama happy.

Why are you leaving mandeville out alone on an island but yet you feel capable of grouping the entire city of dallas together comparing the amenities.

Mandeville is out alone on an Island if you are talking about the nice things in NO. Crossing the causeway every time you want to go do something luxurious sux compared to living in exclusive part of Dallas where everything is just around the corner.

Have you ever been to any of the High end hoods in Dallas?

Oh man, he has to drive 30 miles instead of 13 miles everytime he needs to trade in his Mercedes. Sorry, i'm not buying this theory that his family is moving to westlake, tx because there is a closer cartier.

Everyone I know with kids has really focused on this specific piece of the story. No parent would do this to a kid without a very good reason. And I find it hard to believe that whatever school he got them into in Dallas would not have just enrolled them in August, which is the norm anyway. If everything else were the same but the story was that their kids were going to finish the school year, I'd buy it. I ain't buying it.

Yes, I have been to many of the high end hoods in and around Dallas, but I don't think this is a convincing explanation. The Paytons are not going to be "right around the corner" from a lot of things in the very high end but suburban digs they are buying. Frankly, Dallas is not a very centralized place at all such that I would think that proximity to cool things to do is not a big motivating factor.

I toured a high end private high school in Dallas that my buddy teaches at. Then I rode with him thru the neighborhoods the kids live in.
Believe me living in one of those Luxury neighborhoods in Dallas is a whole other world than poor old Mandeville/N.O. The High end private schools are in a different planetary orbit compared to anything in Mandeville/N.O.
I live in Mandeville and love the place. I just know it doesn't compare to some parts of Dallas if you have the cash.

No wonder why they wanted to get out of Mandeville. Its horrible to live over there. The causway sucks and the area has no culture. And yes I've lived there before
