He lived on the Northshore. How is he bailing on New Orleans?

why even bring up "moving to the place he eventually wants to retire".....he's still got atleast 10 more years of coaching left in him. something don't smell right brothers!!!

Can anyone blame his wife for wanting to live in Dallas instead of GNO? There's no comparing the two. We'll probably get to see just how much Payton loves his wife.

I can see your future posts now "Can anyone blame Coach Payton for wanting to coach the Dallas Cowboys instead of the New Orleans Saints?"

misquoting me, not nothing
The one with the city and everything is a great story and fine but all secondary to his purpose and value to me. Keep him happy and the Saints contending and he can post foot massage videos for all I care.
Ya prolly can think of people you've worked with... some are assholes and people you really don't like but they can be damn good at what they do and be integral to the success of an organization. Others may be the most friendly good hearted people ya ever knew but they are a complete loss to a company or group effort. Ideally, both parts together are great. But if choosing one I go for who serves the purpose best. I want the best electrician to wire my house over the church going family guy upstanding citizen with far inferior skills.

certainly didn't help anything as their housing situations has been a down right mess.
I'm looking at this like a rope, several string strands have become to get severed. The rope might be strong enough to hang on for a while but we all know this rope will break eventually. And nobody wants to climb a rope with breaking strands.

I didn't say you wanted it. But if we can't blame the wife for wanting to leave, how can we then later blame payton for wanting to leave as well?

His wife not wanting to live in New Orleans or rather wanting to live in Dallas and Payton wanting to coach somewhere else soon aren't the same.
You're just scared and upset. Everything will be ok.

How are they not the same? Isn't it all about quality of life and family happiness?

I'm not scared nor upset. I'm realistic. This isn't a boost of confidence here. I will settle down when a Payton extension is signed past 2012.

Why is this a big deal he can't go anywhere for two more years unless he is fired right.
Posted on 2/7/11 at 3:23 pm to Lester Earl
like I said minor PR snafu given how sensitive NOLA people tend to get about the city, but no cause for concern yet.
maybe his wife didn't enjoy living in a "smaller" community and being a celebrity or maybe she's a snoody bitch who needs to live in that type of suburb. Not really anything worth me giving a damn over either way.
