He said in his good bye press conference that he may coach again soon. He just got tired of being here in one spot for so long. He was ready for a new challenge. So he was ready to go. All there is to it really

We got his best years, he’s fat and happy now. He’s not gonna with nearly as hard as he did with us. I can see it going downhill his last few years with us.

New Orleans is literally falling apart.
If you're a multi-millionaire who isn't even from there, would you want to spend the rest of your life down there?
While the Saints complex is very nice, it's on Airline Drive, which is one of the ugliest stretches of road in the state. And that's saying something.
There are really beautiful parts of New Orleans, but a lot of it is shabby as hell.
Denver is a much nicer place to be, unfortunately.

Dude I was a die hard fan long before Payton and will continue to be but the post I replied to was about bill quitting, guess what the poster was WRONG, he didn't quit when Brady left, in fact if reports are true he was trying to push Brady out because he knew he needed to plan ahead for the future because of seasons like Brady just had. But your hero would still be coaching the saints if drew was on AARP and in a wheelchair

This right here. He caught lightning in a bottle with Brees. He left the salary cap in shambles. He left the search for a Brees successor in shambles and he left the w.r. room in shambles. Then he left out of the back door.
Coaching burnout my arse. The only burnout was his tires screeching to get out of the mess he left behind. He is not an honorable man. He didn't his honor marriage and he didn't honor his contract. He has been planning his exit for years. It would have been nice if he had planned as well for this team.
