Yeah it’s kind of underwhelming. You can pick and prod his body of work when he was in Dallas and Green Bay.

But he knows how to put together a staff. Now more than ever, we need a good coaching staff that will develop the players we draft. You heard from players and reporters on how Todd Grantham (someone DA brought in) wasn’t even teaching much technique to our D-Line guys.

That wouldn’t happen under MM. that doesn’t mean Loomis won’t make some oddball picks or there wouldn’t be busts but MM has a solid track record of developing players through his staff, even if he himself gets out schemed by some of the smarter minds (LaFleur, Shanahan, etc.)

You get a steady hand and a proven winner. With a guy like Brady, you really have no idea what you are getting.

Yeah it’s hard for me to say we need to steady the ship roster wise and then shite on the idea of hiring McCarthy. As long as loomis behaved Im pretty confident he could get the franchise and roster a lot healthier looking than it is now.

Dude managed to do a whole lot of nothing in Dallas. He is the ultimate definition of a retread. Don’t want. Rather go out on a limb to get an up and comer, if the up and comer fails we draft high.

what drove me up the wall was how the D-line would get up field and then the QB could just step and take off running at times like it was nothing. The Saints aren't the only team that happens too, but it does seem to happen now more than ever.

you did notice a difference sometimes after some changes were made on the staff. The Washington game for instance. The defense got 8 sacks in that game. By far the best effort of the season. Anyone know how long it had been since they had recorded that many in one game?

How many playoff wins? How many NFC championship games? How many super bowls?

That’s the point. I would rather take a chance on someone new with upside rather than a known commodity.

I agree but I’m just saying MM wouldn’t be the worst hire.

I think AT WORST, under MM, you’d be looking at some 9-8 or 10-7 years, maybe a playoff win here or there as long as we drafted well. Best case scenario: maybe you’re basically the Chiefs with Alex Smith before they drafted Mahomes…

Brady is high risk but possibly high reward. Do you get the next younger version of Sean Payton? Nobody knows?

McCarthy has proven that he can build playoff quality teams, but they seem to falter once they get in the post season. But, just getting in the playoffs would be a tremendous upgrade for the Saints. Out of the probable candidates for the job, he's not a bad choice.

Cancerous saints board loser mentality. Same mentality that has us stuck with carr.
“Play it safe”

Only 1 in 32 can win a championship each year yet we are so scared to take a chance on anything. We can’t draft a quarterback because they all apparently suck for one reason or another. We are too scared to take a chance on an up and coming offensive genius because we “aren’t ready”. Y’all will find every excuse not to give ourselves a chance. If you think McCarthy is good then fine let’s go get him but let’s not hire him because we are scared to take a chance on something better.

He would be a solid hire .he will have a chip on shoulder amd I feel like he get more power here than where he came from . So he would build us like the packers were under him .

Drafting McCarthy would not be playing it safe. He has as good or better body of work than any of the other candidates. Joe Brady has no experience building or rebuilding a team. I'd take him as an OC but you are really rolling the dice on him as a HC given where the Saints are right now.

Cancerous Browns board loser mentality. Just complain and draft 1st round QB after first round QB and keep hiring and firing coaches because what we have sucks and shiny new name or trend has to be better instead of actually thinking and building something.

This. This is you, High Life.

Going with an over the hill retread is the last thing the organization needs to do

Clean house and start over with a young, motivated coach
