Do it.

Get whatever you can for this guy. He’s one (more) concussion away from retirement.

The saints aren’t trading Olave unless they get a ridiculous haul for him.

Olave is GOOD and is currently GOOD value. I LOVE him at his current salary ($1.1M base with $6.1M cap hit) but I HATE him at next year's salary ($15.4M base & cap hit)

You can’t have a rookie qb and then give him shaheed and cooks as his top targets

Olave is likely to have another concussion and miss multiple games again so we'll still have Cooks & Shaheed as his top targets.

He's missed 10 games in 3 seasons due to concussions, sustaining at least 1 each season. For a team that was absolutely crushed by injuries last season I don't understand picking up his 5th year option or entertaining a long term high end contract. I'd trade him for a 3rd, anything more than that is a plus

Olave is very close to done. You aren't getting much for him because he's a concussion away from having to retire.

While I agree, Cooks had the same issue and was traded around the league like a cheap hooker

Per Adam Crowley on Twitter. Local Pittsburgh radio host. Probably a nothing burger but if moved we better get a really nice haul. None of that Pickens crap

Olave brain is scrambled we'll be lucky to get a 3rd round pick for him.

Do not trade. They are trying to buy low on him. With his injury history, you will not get fair value so focus on keeping him healthy as a Saint.

Olave doesn’t have the body to play in the NFL. Good receiver can’t stay healthy. If the contract washes and we got a 4th round pick that would qualify as stealing.

He was top 25 his first two seasons. He’s hasn’t had a legitimate quarterback, offense, or head coach. You know how many elite QBs would kill to have Olave and could easily get him inside the top 15

I don’t remember Cooks having the concussion issues. Olave was shut down for half the year last year due to them.

Olave as a cheap short term piece makes sense. But it makes zero sense to pay him anything significant.

Hopefully he plays well up to the deadline, stays healthy and then if we’re as shite as everyone expects, see what the market is at or around the deadline.

Exactly he has every incentive to ball out this year. It would be moronic to dump him right now. His stock is so much lower than it could be.

He’s had over 1,000 yards 2 of his 3 seasons. With Dalton, Jameis, and Carr throwing him the ball. If you believe in Shuck at all, why would you give up your only legitimate WR right now?

The other side of the coin is, will the team match his expected demands. He has $15.5M fully guaranteed coming to him next year. Tee Higgins just signed a 4 year deal for $28.75M ($115M deal) per year with $30M guaranteed at signing. His 2026 contract becomes fully guaranteed at the beginning of the 2026 league year.

In 2 years, you have to expect Olave's team will demand a deal similar to this, if not more. If Olave becomes a true #1 in the next 2 years, you could be looking at an average over $35M a year. If these numbers are not realistic for the Saints, they should consider getting some value for him.

There's an extremely high likelihood that now he has an even worse qb situation. Couple that with his burgeoning mushhead status and his stock going back up is far from a guarantee. And if he does stay healthy then he's going to want to get overpaid like he's a top receiver next offseason.

Let him get injured or pissy or grumpy and see his value.

Standing by for the rush of "first rounder of GTFO" posts from some of the same people who've been saying he's washed up for the last 18 months.

Nope. His contract ends this year b/c he wasn’t a first round pick.

Olave is under a cost controlled contract for the next two years. Cost should be higher.

Floorvshoukd be a 2nd plus

While I agree with this, it doesn’t make sense for Mickey to get rid of Shuck’s only good WR. If you believe in him you don’t set him up for failure.

You can’t give up on every 1st round pick because they had one bad year. Just because he wasn’t the best pick in hindsight it makes no sense to let him go. Especially when he has every incentive to do well. Unless we acknowledge we’re tanking, which in that case I’m all for.

We will cross that path when we get there. Him staying healthy and having a good year is a good problem to have. Like S said previously, if he balls out before the deadline his value will increase. Getting a 3rd round pick or even a 2nd doesn’t do you any good. That gives you a coin flip’s chance at maybe getting an ok starter? Olave has proven he can be a legit WR and he’s not going to be that expensive.
