Oh look, another way for Goodell to put one over on Saints

The NFL sent out a warning to all 32 teams over the weekend that it could end up dropping the hammer on any team that deliberately attempts "to stop play unnecessarily" during a game.

Is that a dig on our terrible playing?

Has this really been much of an issue?

I saw one game yesterday where a player pulled a fake injury b/c of substitution issues to avoid a timeout. The tv crew pointed it out.

Does this include refs when they blow a call and require a ton of time in replay to look at a very clear and easy to discern decision?
Or are we just gonna continue to allow them to be unaccountable and above criticism?

This is because of what the Bengals player pulled yesterday. Common sense would be to come down hard on the Bengals player this week for actually doing it to show how serious they are but this is Roger Goodell’s NFL.
Nothing happens to him & the entire league is put “on notice” to warn for the next time.

So until the end of time every act in the world is godell trying to screw the saints. Honest question, what is the narrative of we won another Superbowl

Should just make a rule where the player has to stay out until a first down or a change of possession. Either one would deter fake injuries.

in college yes, its 60% of coaches game plans to fake injuries to stop the clock
in the NFL, i cant say i recall seeing it done thats obvious, most times the guys are really hurt. but im sure some do it intentionally

sounds good until you think about it, all a coach has to do is send the 4th string backup out there and he falls down going to huddle up and thats your inury timeout.
so they can still use guys they dont need to fake injuries if you do it that way.
maybe the only solution is to remove 30 seconds from the clock each time it happens if that team has no time out. that defeats 90% of what they are trying to do if that is the penalty involved for doing it

How about when the refs stop an offensive team from rushing to the line, without substituting, to allow the defense time to rotate players?
