my bad and i fixed it. i knew they were RFA and still wrote UFA.

regardless, i want to see what we tender bushrod and if some team makes a run at him. he is a 16 game starter on a Superbowl winning team and he is youg. I fully expect us to resign brown as our starting LT.

i'm also interested to see what we tender harper at and if someone takes a run at him. this free agency will be intersting.

if they sign with someone else, then we get draft pick compensation.

round 2

round 3

round 4
RB Anthony Dixon Mississippi State 6-1 235 4.60 (shocker....going to show that some current RB wont be there next season)

round 6
DT Cam Thomas North Carolina 6-3 330 5.10

round 7
RT Drew Davis Alabama 6-7 305 5.20

This wreaks of fail.
Dixon will be long gone by round 4.
Cam Thomas will be a 3rd rounder.

I think Weatherspoon will be available when the Saints pick at 32d in the 1st round and they need to pull the trigger on this guy.

I disagree, he will go to atlanta or philly.

I'm not so sure that happens with the new "Final 8" free agency rules. You can only get so many starters out of the draft, especially when you already have decent players and are looking for an upgrade. Another team signing Brown might be the only way to upgrade one of our weaker positions like OLB, DT, or DE.

Saints are in good shape. They need to get some more defense at DT, DE, LB. We need a front 4 that can presssure without blitzing.

Why the hell are we talking about replacing Bush? Did he not average over 5 per carry and stick the ball in the hole multiple times again this season? Don't forget he's still a kid, and improved remarkably with his physical running game this season. I really don't get the lack of love.

It's all about interior D. The backside of the defense is underrated now, and will be a league headline next season with Jenkins into his sophomore season, and God willing, everyone staying healthy! Gotta fortify the run D.

Like so many, I would love to see Weatherspoon from Missouri. Having watched him for 3 seasons, I'd love to see him on a defense where he would only have to worry about his assignment.

What kind of money is left on LaRon Landry's deal in Washington? The way they use him there makes me wanna vomit.

As per the previous 4,386 threads no one "wants" to replace him just his 8 mil he's due next year. Please check the elite RB salaries for next year. Doubtful S.W. is available at 32.

Oh I used this...

Keep Reggie if possible.

Weatherspoon may be worth trading up for a mid-first round pick if the Saints believe someone will take him ... swap 1st round picks and throw in Jammal Brown ... they can't afford both him and Bushrod.

Some mock drafts have the Saints taking Cody or Pouncey at 32 .... at #32 you can afford to draft for need and a center wouldn't be a bad choice here. Cody? Not sure he won't eat his way out of the NFL, a la Stanley Roberts, Marcus Dupree. Brandon Spikes may be available but the Saints don't need a troublemaker.

We all think front 7 BPA but don't be surprised if we pick up another CB in rd's 1 or 2. In Greggs Def. they seem more important than just about any other position. It seems to let him do so much more having lock down corners. We all saw what happened when one or both were down due to injuries.Adding depth or a better three corner could happen.

If Jason Pierre-Paul drops he'd be a huge get. While teams targeted Selvie this year he dominated. He'll play DE in the NFL I believe, but it would be a great value with grant gone.

He's only a few pounds of muscle from being NFL LB size. With him at OLB, Saints could stay in 4-3 in passing downs. He would make a great coverage LB in the Vilma mold. I can definitely see him making a push into the first round with a great combine.
