Everyone keeps saying it was around 800k. I can promise you it was more than tens of thousands. ESPN is waaaay off.

Everyone is way off too... no way there was 800,000 people, you cant fathom that many people downtown...

especially considering the entire population of New Orleans is around 350k.

Anyone who thinks 800k people were downtown is rah-tarded.

Kern is an expert. I trust his estimate.

I dont know what the exact number was but Im fairly certain its not that far off. I dont know if you went, but ive never seen that many people in the area before. It was at least 20 deep the whole parade and more than that in a couple spots. Blaine Kern is the one who said 800k as well as wwl and wdsu.

How do you know? Are you an expert?

There were more people at that parade than live in the city.

Brah, the metro area has a population of 1.2 million. Then factor in people who drove in from BR, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and other surrounding areas, and that goes up even more.

Having said that, 800K is hard to believe, but I've lived in this city all my life, and the only time I've seen traffic like it was yesterday was for hurricane evacuations. It's possible 800K is closer to the actual number than you think. It was definitely half a million.

The entire state only has a population of 4 million.

dude. You think noone from Kenner, Metairie, Algiers, Gretna, Harahan, Slidell, Marerro, etc. didn't go. You think people from Mandeville, Hammond, Baton Rouge, Biloxi, etc. didn't go?

There were AT LEAST 750k out there

I looked up attendance records for other Mardi Gras parades and 800k for this parade doesn't sound off at all. If I think of all the people inside Tiger Stadium and multiply that times 8, that doesn't sound off for filling up the fricking entirety of downtown New Orleans...

How so? Your assuming just people from NOLA went. Your retarted to think people didnt come from outside the actual city.
