Everyone thinks that Mickey's the one dying to trade/get rid of him, but nobody mentions that maybe Kellen's not that high on AK and can take him or leave him.

Yep, they went after Etienne hard for a reason, and it has way more to do with Kellen than with Mickey. I also can’t totally blame Mickey for wanting AK gone (if he does), because it was much easier to deal with AK’s eccentricity when he was productive. Now he is an aloof player, who doesn’t participate in offseason activities, who can’t stay on the field, isn’t very productive when he’s on the field, AND he’s as expensive as the lead back you just paid.

I love AK, but the saints fans acting like he’s being disrespected (the same fans that wanted him traded previously) are being whiny bitches. Same thing with the local media and former players that are carrying water for him.

Now, if he and the organization can come to an agreement and he takes a pay cut…..there would probably be a role for him, and I would much rather that than him leave……but at the end of the day I can see where the organization is coming from.

We also don't know how much of this is AK wanting to go into a system that is better suited for him, to your point about Kellen potentially wanting to move on.

Sure, AK made the comments about wanting to retire if traded, but this is also his way of controlling the narrative to where he would accept a trade. There is a possibility he was being 100% truthful, but there is also the chance that he wants to make sure he gets to go to a GB/KC type situation instead of Clev/LV.

That’s a great point, AK is probably one of the smartest players I’ve ever seen (regarding football IQ), so he definitely makes comments with a purpose when it comes to the business side of it. He definitely wants to control the narrative.
