Not important to win tonight's game

screw being a middle of the pack team for the next 10 years and maybe a wild card game. lets bite the bullet and tank for 2-3 years while also starting over with new coaching staff.

There's no reason we can't win the South, be competitive in a home wild card game and still do a rebuild. Drafting 13 spots higher isn't like some magic elixir guaranteed to make us better. You can still get a stud with the 20th pick (just like you can whiff with the 7th pick)

If we win the South, we keep DA and effectively dont make our team any better. I think its time to restart. Division is bad but that shouldn’t help create the illusion we’re a good enough team to do anything especially if we get into playoffs.

I'm not convinced a new OC wouldn't help. I like the way DA manages the game (more than CSP even) and the team plays hard for him. It's not like they don't care. If we fired DA our defense might go into the crapper.
You can't just demote DA back to DC, it doesn't work that way. You'd have to completely start over.

Do they play hard for him? Their best wr is loafing. Penning may have some other internal issues. I honestly agree its time to get rid of him and start over. Its NFL, rebuilds dont take forever. Just look at the Lions.

People get pissed at people who actively want this team to lose so we can rebuild.
Those same people also get pissed when this team is a middle of the road fringe playoff team every year.

This depends on how they plan to rebuild. Rebuild around Carr, you are correct it really doesn't matter. Rebuild the entire offense, you are in a much better position at 7 to land a stud QB. Sure, there are plenty of examples of stud QBs dropping and being available late 1st and later. But you have a higher chance of being right in the top 10.

They wont tank. The hope is they keep being their mistake and underperforming selves. As fans who want a rebuild we can only hope.

I don't. Hell, we were a fringe playoff team for about half the years that we had Brees. I enjoy the hell out of it and still think we are capable of making the divisional round, which would be a top 10 season in the history of the franchise

I agree with you 100%. This team/staff is going absolutely no wheres. The goal should always be the superbowl, not just winning the South and "see" what happens in the wildcard game played away. I prefer a losing season with a top 5/10 pick in the draft and completely new coaching staff. It's time for our Saints to start from the beginning. With that being said, don't think Loomis is going anywhere, but maybe he can move into another title and bring in a GM with a proven record. Make this person say no. WHO DAT always!
