They are saying NO ONE made a call after the hit and run, and SOMEONE made a call(s) during the altercation.

Can someone explain how the cops know for certain Hayes did not make a call reporting the hit and run, but say the cant confirm whether or not he made the call regarding the shooting?

You need to read the article.
There is no first call in the area.
There are 2 calls after the shooting, one before police arrived. They don't have the information necessary to ID those 2 calls, likely because the investigation is ongoing.

I'm not sure why they need to say who called 911 to report the car wreck on Sophie Wright or report the shooting. If its an open investigation, no witnesses will be named. If it were Hayes, I'm sure Fuller would say something.
Either way, someone is lying to Fuller about the first alleged 911 call.

Certainly, but they have no obligation to release that information in the log.

Because NOPD wouldn't confirm anything because, as the article says, it is an ongoing investigation.
Furthermore, why wouldn't the attorney confirm it?

When said poster is wrong about something they ignore it and pretend they are still always right. Never admits to be wrong despite being proven wrong on a consistent basis.
This is why I choose to rarely engage said poster unless it's to prove him wrong.
