No RB tagged this year mean a lot of good RBs hitting the market.

What does that do for the value of Kamara as a trade assets?

Hypothetical IF the Saints wanted to explore trading him?

Lmao. Auto correct is a bitch.

4th (doubtful) or 5th (maybe). Nothing crazy. He will be 29 by training camp. The league has pretty much shown the value for aging RBs in a trade is pretty nil.

I believe he'd have to be cut in the summer for the cap savings so the pick would be the following year.

I think he’s saying that the market will be crowded per your post so we likely won’t get much.

Basically means Kamara is staying in New Orleans with a restructure
I don’t see anyone trading for him at this point

Kamara has averaged less than 4 ypc the past three years and has no “home run” ability. Take off your Saints blinders, he has no trade value.

I have been patiently waiting for “Las Vegas nightclub fight II” before entertaining any trade value.

Not sure the market will be "crowded" but the upper tier could drive the price up higher than what would be normally expected. Kamara being under contract could be an attractive option for a team look for a quality RB. Yes kamara is still a quality RB even if the idiots in New Orleans couldn't or wouldn't use him correctly.

I hope he isn't traded but if he is I do not expect more than a 5th or 6th for him.

I wish someone would measure his game time speed or share it. I'm sure the coaches have. My eyes say he has slowed but how much?

If you get a 4 or 5 you jump on that trade if you’re the Saints.

Kamara isn't going anywhere. He's not good enough to trade for anything lower than a 6th. His dead cap is also too high to be cut. Best bet is he can be a decent contributor in 2024.

Value of rbs is at an all time low. The league is going to reset these guys and how much they are getting we will learn a lot about how they value rbs this season.
Kamara though in my mind is a great weapon to have. Would hurt to see him go but with our money problems maybe they can save some cap space.

I don't think AK would have much value in the trade market at this time for a number of reasons. For starters, the RB position is getting devalued as teams are being able to move cheaper players into these positions and getting comparable results. Plus, you are seeing more and more RBBC teams which puts less emphasis on needing that 1 top dollar guy.

AK's base pay (since that's all a trade partner would be responsible for) would have him as the 5th highest cap hit in 2024 and the highest in 2025 (by $7M).

As others pointed out, his production has dropped drastically the past 3 years. IMO, a lot of that was due to the scheme he was playing in and the way the plays were designed and called. However, he is almost 30 so you do have to wonder if father time is catching up to him.

Finally, he has been banged up quite a bit the past few years. And while he is still going out there and grinding through, that is a major concern for a RB turning 30 and creeping up on 2,000 touches for his career.

From the Saints perspective, trading him now only saves $1.5M for the 2024 cap, and clears the 2025 cap hit. But as mentioned above, I doubt you get more than a 5th for him at this point when you consider the devaluation of the position, his age, and his lack of production under Pete. Maybe if Kubiak comes in and uses him like McCaffrey, you can trade him before the trade deadline and if his production improves you can justify demanding a much higher pick.

I agree with this, but at the same time he was never truly a burner. If I recall, his 40 time at the combine was in the mid 4.5s.

One problem with the eye test is even IF he didn't lose a step, if players around him are getting faster he will look slower. Plus, even early in his career, when he wasn't getting caught from behind, he looked so smooth running it looked like he was jogging out there while passing people up.

Almost unbelievable stat:

AK had 180 carries last season. His longest run was 17 yards.

Kamara has been the biggest victim of Carmichael, shite QB and OL play. Talk about working with the odds stacked against you

Kubiak has a track record of boosting RBs. Add another guy to the room with AK and KM.
