I feel bad for fairley but he did just make 9 million not lifting a finger.

It's a given everyone wants Fairley to be healthy and live a long life. Now that that is out of the way, I'm more worried about the cap hit than his loss of production.
Really sick of the dead money.
They need to find a fair resolution to this. He should not be entitled to all of the bonus money. Shouldn't insurance cover some of this?

Fairley will be placed in the Non-Football Injury list and will presumably fail his team physical.
At that point, I think the CBA can put the issue into arbitration. The saints will get some cap relief from the guaranteed portion.

This will get down voted into eternity, but anyone else think there's a good chance Fairley knew about this beforehand and waited until after the contract to reveal it?
Kind of ironic all of the fears about paying him in a contract year turned out to be true but for completely different reasons.

I hope Fairley will be alright away from the game. With that being said, Go sign Odrick.

But not for what his contract was at Jacksonville.
Overpaid. This is the turd that remarked about America being built off the backs of slaves.

Well, America was built on the back of slaves so...

Umm, was this not the truth? Or were you mad that he spoke about it?

He actually passed his physical in March with the same condition. So cap relief isn't a given I guess.
The entire timeline of events is actually pretty disturbing and I'm not sure everybody is fully aware of a few details
1. Fairley had a physical in March with Saints doctors, who noticed something wrong with his heart. He still passed the physical. But the doctors recommend him go see a specialist.
2. Saints sign Fairley to a 30 million dollar deal instead of waiting to get any news back on Fairley's heart.
3. First doctor says don't play anymore. Mickey and Sean, "what have we done?"
And the rest is history

This sucks so much arse!

what is even more fishy is that he completed a full season (2016) with out injury or off-the-field issues.
He had never done that before.
he also had a career high 6.5 sacks.
I mean you want to be careful.. yeah.. but something just isn't right here.
I don't know.

Team docs work for the team.
100% chance he fails his physical.
I'd say 95% there is some cap relief and a 100% chance it goes to arbitration.

I had never heard that comment before. If that's true....I retract my previous statement

Nothing wrong with what he said.

Lets just be very honest here, Peyton and Loomis, who have complete control over every football decision, have done an absolutely horrible job with regard to personnel.

They've done a pretty good job recently imo. Between 3-5 years ago was pathetic to say the least, but they've turned it around(which coincides with the addition of Ireland the front office). What moves don't you like over the past 2 years? This Fairley situation & Fleener's contract are about all anyone can complain about...if you feel the need complain about something.

You are correct and Ireland seems to have helped.
